The story of eight-year-old Kingston's prayers for a sibling highlights the innocence and unwavering faith children can possess.
Gwen Stefani, the lead singer of No Doubt, shared an interesting story about her oldest son Kingston and his strong belief in the power of prayer during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. The American singer and songwriter said that her third child is a "miracle baby." According to Stefani, her third son Apollo was not planned, but Kingston had been praying every night for another sibling before she became pregnant, reports ET Online.
Stefani described Kingston, who is now eight years old, as having "a direct link to God." She recounted, "He really has, like, a direct link to God. He asked me, 'Mom are you going to have a baby? I want you to have a baby.' And I'm like, 'No, it's over, we're not having any more. This is our family,'" she told Seth Meyers as she talked about how he had asked her because he wanted a sibling. At the time, Stefani had thought their family was complete and had no plans for more children. However, Kingston's prayers for a baby sibling were seemingly answered when Stefani found out she was pregnant just four weeks later. The singer playfully remarked that Kingston believes in the power of prayer for everything. She continued, "And four weeks later, I was pregnant! He prays for everything." Stefani added laughing that he would pray, "'Please, God, please let me have another cupcake… Yes!' He really believes," as she humorously emphasized his unwavering faith.
Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale welcomed their third son, Apollo, on February 28, 2014. He joined his older brothers Kingston and Zuma, aged eight and six, respectively. According to US Weekly, the mom of three told the late-night host that he would close his eyes, clasp his hands and say, "'Dear God, please let my mom have a baby. Please, God! Please let my mom have a baby!'" before the star became a mom for the third time.
