For both of them, their relationship with their faith is critical. They have a bond of faith and spirituality.
As lucky as it is to be successful at a young age, it also includes immense pressures. And, fame doesn't necessarily mean knowing how to handle the stress that is bound to accompany it. Justin Bieber, 27, who gained immense fame as a young child, has been battling bad press for a while. From drunken driving to resisting arrest to driving without a valid license, the star has spent thousands of dollars to stay out of jail. In 2017, when he was still in his early 20s, the Sorry singer was allegedly involved in a physical altercation and assault allegations were levied against him, as per Heavy.com.
But that wasn't even the first or second accusation against him. Starting from 2013, Bieber had been getting into trouble. During that time, he was also seeing his on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez and that chapter finally folded in March 2018, according to Elle. In June 2018, he started dating Hailey Baldwin, 24, who is now his wife.
She was thrust into the limelight at a young age because of their relationship, and she's still trying to grapple with it. "I’m a young woman, and it’s very weird having all these grown men following you around all the time. I’m still not used to it, and I don’t think I ever should be used to it, because it’s weird and not normal. Honestly, I may never stop wearing the mask in public, let’s just put it that way," she told Elle.
The fashion model married Bieber when she was only 21 and the couple is still going strong. They tied the knot in a small ceremony in a New York courthouse in September 2018. The small event, which was followed months later by a bigger event and her willingness to wait for it all, are signs of how grounded she is. She only cared about being with the man of her dreams.
The Baby singer was "at a stage of his life where he could make decisions like, ‘I’m done with girls, and I’m done with fooling around, and I’m done with partying,'" she said. "We were friends first for a really long time before there was anything romantic. But we always knew that we were aligned on what we wanted in our future. We had talked about wanting to be married young and having a family young and building a life. Even before we knew we wanted to be with each other," she added.
She wasn't just a friend but also his biggest support system. With her help, he overcame the distance from his inner self because of the intense and fast life he lived. However, even now it surprises her that she's married.
"I mean, I was married when I was 21, two months before I turned 22, which is insanely young. And sounds almost ridiculous when you say it out loud. Although I do think for somebody like me and somebody like Justin, [it’s different]. We’ve seen a lot for our age. We have both lived enough life to know that’s what we wanted," she added.
When you're married to one of the most famous people in the world, the pressure can be immense. "In the beginning of our marriage, I just wanted to hide. I was like, ‘I don’t want people so in my business. I feel like everybody’s up my ass.’ I was like, ‘Can there be no anonymity? Can I have any of it back?'" said the 24-year-old. Just like other millennials, social media is important to her but she had to stop engaging with her fans as things got pretty toxic.
Her faith is very important to her and the couple had a joint baptism while on a road trip together, according to Hello Canada. The popstar shared a photo of the moment and said it was "one of most special moments" of his life. "Confessing our love and trust in Jesus publicly with our friends and family," he added.
The couple had known each other since 2009 and were reconnected when the two were attending a service at Hillsong Church in New York. "Being able to share [faith] with each other—to have that bond of faith and spirituality—is so [critical] for us," his wife told Elle.
