The 'Indiana Jones' actor adopted his wife Calista's son Liam after deciding to spend the rest of the life with her.
Harrison Ford, known for his excellence in executing sci-fi action-packed movies has a love story under wraps that not many are aware of. The heartthrob Star Wars actor isn’t surprised at all that he spent more than two decades with his wife, actor Calista Flockhart. The love birds have an interesting tale of falling in love.
The couple crossed each other’s path when they expected it the least, as per Good Housekeeping. It was during the 2002 Golden Globes, that Calista received a nomination for her role in Ally McBeal. Harrison on the hand had a big night as he was the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
The Indiana Jones star was then undergoing the shaky process of divorcing his second wife Melissa Mathison. At that time the actor had no idea life will bring another chance to him. The adorable couple has completed decades together in love despite the dubious speculations of the age gap of twenty-two years between them. Harrison was 60 when he met the 38-year-old An American Story star for the first time.
A dad of four, Ben and Willard with his first wife Mary Marquardt and Malcolm and Georgia with Melissa, the American actor never imagined he would chance upon love again.
Calista, on the other hand, became a mother when she adopted her son, Liam, as an infant in January 2001. The single parents had nothing to rush for as their stars shined in affirmation.
"I'm in love. Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life. I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn't surprised that I did," revealed Harrison to PEOPLE in 2003 when the news blazed across the tabloids. It confirmed the rumors of the two stars dating as they were spotted together quite often.
The Blade Runner actor developed their relationship further on February 14, 2009, after seven years of togetherness. The actor adopted the latter’s son as his own.
Talking to Parade he said, “I think Liam was about 6 or 8 months old when I met him and Calista. We have been together ever since ... I wasn’t expecting it at all. The unexpected part was certainly true. And the joy part is also true." The actor was happy to begin a wonderful married life he almost lost hope on.

The pair have been on each other’s side through thick and thin after making it all official in June 2010. Five years down, the action hero had a tragic air crash while flying over an L.A. golf course. Harrison, who loved adorning the cap of the pilot recovered soon with Calista by his side.
Talking about the tough time the Telling Lies in America actress told the outlet, "He loves it, so I love it, and I support him 100 percent. I think it just makes you realize once again that life can turn on a dime, and we just have to appreciate every second we’re here because you never know."
Tough times crept and went by as the loving stars stood strong through the storms of life. Two decades have passed and the love birds look at each other the same way they did on their first appearance together.
