In a Reader's Digest interview, Ford expressed his utmost admiration for Flockhart's parenting abilities, describing her as "the best mother in the world," per PEOPLE. "She’s a mother by choice – she adopted Liam before we met, as a single parent, which is an awesome responsibility to take," he added praising Flockhart's devotion to motherhood. The Indiana Jones star shared that he is extremely grateful to Flockhart for offering him a chance to parent her son. Ford, who enjoys being a dad to Liam, ended up adopting him officially in 2001. "She's brought a child back into my home," he said, crediting his wife with giving him the chance to have another go at parenting at a "bit more mature" stage.

"My youngest, other than Liam, is 17. It's a wonderful opportunity to be part of a child's growing up, which is always an endless springtime. You see the blossoming and the growing and the nurturing and the payoff," he added.

Ford really enjoys parenting Liam, taking him to chill basketball games, and vacationing with his small family. He truly is a doting father, and Flockhart appreciates it. “Harrison is a wonderful parent,” Calista said in an interview with Closer Weekly of Ford, who also has four older children from his two past marriages. “He’s funny and warm and loving.”

Since he received his pilot's license, Ford developed a deep enthusiasm for flying. Fortunately for him, Flockhart shared his passion for flying and they bonded over it early on while raising their son Liam. "Calista loves to fly, and I'm thrilled because it's so important to me and it's the kind of thing that's so much more fun with somebody who really enjoys it," Ford told PEOPLE in 2003. "Liam loves to fly. Calista likes the process, she likes what she sees from the air, she likes seeing me happy. I think a lot of it has to do with that she loves to see me doing something that I love."

In fact, Ford gave Liam a stylish start to college in 2020. At the start of the autumn semester, the pilot took the couple's kid to his liberal arts college in his own aircraft. In addition, Flockhart gave Liam a bear hug before she and Ford left, per PEOPLE.
