Becoming a parent is one of the happiest moments in the lives of many. From the minute their child is born, they dream of all the things they can do together, and wish to be there for each milestone that their children achieve. But there's no greater pain for a parent than to lose their child. It becomes something that's hard to accept and after a point, all they want is to keep their child's memory alive in whatever way they can.

That's why, one father who had to see his little girl breathe her last, decided to honor her memory in a rather unique way.

According to Reddit, the man who lost his daughter wanted a piece of her with him always, and so, he tattooed the last picture his little daughter gave him on his body. The tattoo is of her and her father, and she wrote "Te Amo Papa". It didn't take long for the image, shared on Reddit to go viral. People all over social media were touched by the father's act to keep a life-long memory of his little girl.

"Makes me cry every time I see this post, I can't imagine the pain this man has gone through after the death of this little girl," commented one person on Reddit. "It's a beautiful tribute to his daughter's memory," wrote another Reddit user. "Love how well the man's tattoo captured his daughter's drawing too."

"Seems like a perfect memory for her," another person said. Some even commented on the size of the tattoo—"I bet he wishes it were even bigger. Big enough that it surrounds him and he is the same size as the figure in the drawing and he could just slip in and take its place and then so could his daughter and they'd be back together again,"

The heartbreaking gesture led to people sharing their own stories of grief.  "We lost our baby a week before he was supposed to be born. Total surprise as well, since we'd just gone in for a final checkup and everything was fine. But even worse, due to how it happened we can no longer have any biological children," wrote one emotional parent.

These were just a few of the many comments left under the post, with some people appreciating the gesture, while others sharing stories of their own loss and how they dealt with it. Loss and grief are strange emotions that have the capacity to bring humans together. Sharing a story of grief will find resonance with someone else, even if they are a stranger, even if they are from the other side of the world. Like a Reddit user aptly commented, "That’s heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time!"
