When couples exchange vows during weddings, they promise to stay together "till death do us part", but it seems like death isn't the only deal-breaker here. Sure, there may be a lot of valid reasons for couples to call it quits and head their separate ways, like infidelity, compatibility, finances, addiction, etc., but sometimes, it's not really a conventional one.

Here are some instances where couples went their separate ways in a marriage for an unusual reason.

1. Because he kept chatting all the time

A woman in Nigeria filed for divorce after six years of marriage because her husband just did not know how to keep his mouth shut. “My husband is fond of sharing our family affairs with his relatives and friends,” the woman told the court, reports HuffPost. “My husband has no trust in me, instead he shares his problems with friends and relatives who will mislead him.”

2. Because the husband was living a real-life horror film

A man from Italy sought a divorce in April 2017 because he was convinced that his wife is "possessed by the devil" after witnesses said they'd seen her levitate, per The Times. The woman has displayed "inexplicable behavior" since 2007, a court in Milan heard. Her husband believed this behavior was due to a "demonic possession."

3. Because bigger isn't always better

A woman from Nigeria decided she couldn't handle her husband's big penis, so she decided to end her marriage. According to New York Times, the woman just could not enjoy intimate moments with her husband because his manhood was “too much to bear.”

4. Because he never could clean up after himself

Listen, women aren't slaves, and they're definitely not your personal housekeeper. "Every time she’d walk into the kitchen and find a drinking glass by the sink, she moved incrementally closer to moving out and ending our marriage. I just didn’t know it yet," a man shared with HuffPost.

5. Because the husband chose to ignore his wife's messages

When you text your spouse, they are bound by an unwritten rule that they must text back immediately, which one man in Taiwan failed to do. So, his wife filed for divorce because he didn't respond to even one message over a period of six months, despite reading them all, states BBC. He even ignored a message where she let him know she was in the hospital. That was the final straw for her.

6. Because he refused to shower for eight weeks

People, personal hygiene is more than stinky armpits, especially when you're married. A couple from Egypt were only married for two months, but the husband decided to confide in his wife that he hadn't had a shower since their wedding, eight weeks ago, per Fox News. He had a skin disease which is why he didn't shower, but apparently, the disease wouldn't be aggravated if it came in contact with water.
