"Borderline weepy about my kids still being young enough to be enchanted by lights and pumpkins," he wrote in the caption of the hearwarming family picture post.
James Van Der Beek took to Instagram to share family pictures from their Halloween Day celebrations. James, 45, and his wife Kimberly,34 were seen celebrating with their kids, daughters Gwendolyn, 4, Emilia, 6, Annabel, 8, and Olivia, 12, and sons Joshua, 10, and Jeremiah, 12 months, at the Pumpkin Nights Festival, Texas. The family looked adorable together in one frame as James documented their family outing on Instagram. The actor, who has been busy with work, got emotional after spending time with his family on Halloween, reported PEOPLE.
Enjoying the evening amidst nightscapes and fall scenery with his family, James wrote "Halloween through the eyes of a child got me SUPER emotional last night. I've been SO busy, so overwhelmed - all with 'important' (and really exciting) stuff - but this family adventure amid a crazy week made me borderline weepy about my kids still being young enough to be enchanted by lights and pumpkins," James began his caption.
"Granted, @pumpkinnights was a Texas-sized extravaganza," he added, "but in the midst of so much planning and effort to build a solid future for my kids, it was #jackolanterns and spooky music that put me right back in the present… and reminded me nothing is more important."
James also celebrated 5 years of 'The night his daughter was conceived in Vegas'. Calling it "the Best Souvenir," James posted clips from the celebration on Instagram and TikTok. He wrote in his caption, "#Flashback to 5 years ago today… insane how different our life is now. But damn, that was a fun night. Talking about his daughter, he says "And we'll always have THE BEST souvenir to remember it by 😘. #LasVegas #iheartradio #MadeinVegas," he continued, also using the hashtags "#tmi" and "#tmichallenge" at the end.
In 2021, James celebrated a decade with Kimberly in another Instagram post. He wrote in the caption "Doesn’t seem like 11 years… In so many ways, you still feel like a new beginning to me. We’ve been through so much life already, through so many phases of consciousness and personal evolution… and the growth continues! I realized that today marks a day I can no longer say, “Last year was brutal…” From anniversary to anniversary, our lives have transformed into something neither of us could’ve predicted… but both would have been 100% chosen. So happy to be on the cutting edge of realization with you, @vanderkimberly There’s no one I’d rather begin anew with, grow old with, or just lay around in bed with (on the rare occasion we get to do that). I love you. #HappyAnniversary ❤️"
The couple got married in 2010 and shifted from Los Angeles to Texas in 2021. "We wanted to get the kids out of Los Angeles. We wanted to give them space and we wanted them to live in nature," told James in an interview with PEOPLE. The couple had witnessed a really tough time when Kimberly had a miscarriage in June 2020 at 17.5 weeks. Talking very fondly of Kimberly to persevere through it all, James said, "Kimberly, you astound me. Your bravery, your tenderness, and your unwillingness to settle for anything less than what can and ought to be," he added. "You're the best human I know." in an Instagram post for his wife.
