"That's really powerful for a young girl to grow up and have such a strong father figure in her life," Corinne had said in a previous interview.
Jamie Foxx is surrounded by loved ones while he recovers from his mysterious medical emergency at the hospital. Friends and family have gathered around the actor-musician to offer support including his 29-year-old daughter Corinne. The 55-year-old Ray actor broke his silence on the matter recently by thanking his followers on Instagram on May 3 for their support and concern, weeks after his daughter Corinne disclosed that he had "experienced a medical complication."
The Foxx family had said in a statement published on Corinne Foxx's Instagram on April 12 that the actor "experienced a medical complication" and is in recovery. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery," the statement read. "We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time." The Academy Award-winning actor experienced the emergency while filming Netflix's Back In Action in Atlanta but is currently on the road to recovery. Details of the condition have not been disclosed so far.
Jamie Foxx is a dad to two daughters from previous relationships; 29-year-old Corinne and 13-year-old Annalise. According to PEOPLE, he first became a father in 1994 as he had Corinne whom he shares with his ex, Connie Kline. After 15 years, he welcomed his second daughter with his ex Kristin Grannis.
The Gold Digger singer revealed that he never considered himself "the marrying type" in his memoir Act Like You Got Some Sense. "Because I've had two children without being married to their mothers, the subject of marriage has hovered over my head in one way or another for years," he wrote in his book, per PEOPLE. He said that everyone's asking him about marriage, including his daughters' mothers, people in his family, strangers on the street, and even Oprah.
He added that he was never convinced of the idea of marriage and didn't think it necessary. He had friends who are in great marriages, others not so much. For him, it never felt like marriage was needed to raise his children in a loving and safe environment. He said, "At least not for now—maybe in a few decades when I'm in a wheelchair and need somebody to push me around and change my diaper."
Whether married or not, Corinne has felt her father has been an "A-plus" dad towards her and that's all that matters. She said that he thinks the world of them, and they can always feel it. "And that's really powerful for a young girl to grow up and have such a strong father figure in her life," she once said in an interview on CBS This Morning: Saturday in 2021.
