The insider added that Foxx is being told to "keep his stress level down" until he is discharged because "the doctors are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to" leave the hospital. Despite needing medical attention, the insider told PEOPLE that the hospital is "the last place Jamie wants to be."

"He has a lot of projects going on," the insider said. "He gets things done; he is focused and astute. What happened to him medically is serious enough to keep him in the hospital."

Another source close to the actor shared, "everyone loves Jamie and is hoping for the best," they said referring to people on the set of Back in Action, Foxx's upcoming Netflix project, which is being shot in Atlanta. "Everyone is thinking about him," said the insider.

Corinne Foxx, the actor's daughter, revealed on April 12 that her father was recovering after experiencing a "medical complication" the day before. "We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," shared Corinne, 29, in a statement written on behalf of the Foxx family. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers," the statement read in addition. "The family asks for privacy during this time."

The emergency did not occur while he was filming his upcoming movie Back in Action, and he was not driven to the hospital by an ambulance, PEOPLE had confirmed at the time. Since word of his health issue became public, Foxx has received a deluge of well-wishes from admirers, friends, and family.

Foxx finally spoke out about the subject on May 3, weeks after word of his health issue became public, posting an update to Instagram and thanking his supporters for their support. "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed," the actor wrote in his post.
