Jamie Foxx's close friends and family are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst as the actor's hospitalization for his medical emergency continues with tests, RadarOnline reported. Foxx had a medical complication for which he has been hospitalized for almost a month. “Jamie’s people are saying he’s doing OK and improving, while doctors try to get to the bottom of his problems — but he wouldn’t be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK,” said a source.

Foxx is reportedly receiving round-the-clock treatment at the Atlanta institution following a collapse due to a medical issue on April 11. Corinne, her 29-year-old daughter, first stated that her father had encountered a "medical complication" without providing additional information.

Corinne said in an Instagram post that has since been deleted that her father was making progress when she shared Foxx's medical condition, per USA TODAY. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery," the statement read. "We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."

Foxx made his first statement a month after Corinne's initial announcement. The Ray actor thanked his Instagram followers on May 3 for their support and encouragement. "Appreciate all the love!!!" he wrote in his brief post which included a hands emoji, a heart, and a fox emoji. "Feeling blessed."

Friends in the entertainment industry, including Kevin Hart and Nick Cannon, have expressed their support for Foxx amid his health issues. Earlier in May, when making an appearance on YouTuber Logan Paul's podcast Impaulsive, Kevin Hart said that while he is not aware of the "exact details" of Foxx's predicament, he is aware the actor is healing.

"I think the dope thing is that he's getting better in his situation and everybody's prayers, everybody's love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt," Hart said. "You just want the guy to get out of the situation and to get back home."

In an April 23 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Foxx's friend Nick Cannon, who will take over as host of the Fox game show, Beat Shazam, provided an update on the actor's health. "Man, I'm praying," Cannon said. "I literally have been saying prayers out loud. Words of affirmation for my big brother. I know he's doing so much better." He further added, "He's awake. They say he's alert, so we love it. That's family right there."
