He wanted to surprise her on her birthday and he got exactly what he was expecting. "That's beautiful!" she gushed when the surprise was revealed to her.
It's not often in Hollywood that we hear about a love so strong that it makes others adore them whole-heartedly. Maybe, even envy them to an extent, because let's be honest, even we'd like to experience a relationship so divine. One such pair is Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet.
Momoa and Bonet have proved in many ways that relationships and marriages in Hollywood don't always end with ugly divorces or bitterness, because they've been together since the day they met back in 2004.
The Aquaman actor recalled the time he met his beautiful wife on The Late Show and told James Corden, "I was 8-years-old and I saw her on the TV and I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one. I was like, ‘I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life, and I’m going to get you.’ I’m a full-fledged stalker.”
But he didn't disclose the "stalker" part to his wife till they had two kids "otherwise it would have been creepy and weird. I’ve always wanted to meet her. She was the queen always," reported ET Online. He also revealed the first time he met the 52-year-old actress in a jazz club.
"I literally turn around, I’m with my best friend, and I see her and she goes, ‘Hi, I’m Lisa.’ And I turn around to my friend and I’m like, ‘Ahhh!!!’” he screamed. “F*****g fireworks going off inside me,” he said and added, "I convinced her to take me home because I was living in a hotel… We sat down and she ordered a Guinness, and that was it. She ordered a Guinness and I had grits. We had Guinness and grits and the rest was history.”
Bonet too felt the attraction and love between them at their first meeting. In an interview with Porter Magazine in 2018, she said, “I can’t say it was full-on from the moment we saw each other, but we have been together from the day that we met." His requests to give him a ride home and stopping by at a cafe for Guinness and grits was all it took for the couple to never leave each other's side. “In that moment, love came and it came big, and he did not run as I think a lot of men do," she said laughing and added, “He basically picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, caveman style!”
If you're still not convinced of how adorable this couple is, Momoa recently surprised his wife with something which she had never imagined. The 42-year-old actor posted a video on his Youtube channel titled My Wife's First Mustang where he divulged to his viewers that he restored Bonet's first car: a 1965 Ford Mustang which she bought when she was just 17. She bought the car when she started appearing in The Cosby Show. This was going to be Bonet's birthday surprise so obviously, it was a secret. The car is one of the only three models made, reported Today.
The Game of Thrones star took the help of Las Vegas' Debine Customs to get the Mustang ready. The video then transitions to the makeover of the automobile with the parts being taken apart and then put back with beautiful and brand new leather seats. What makes the car look even better? The shiny black paint job.
"S**t!" is all Momoa says at first glance. He was blown away by the amazing work done by Devine Customs, reported Oprah Magazine. He said, "I never thought it would look like this. To be in this passenger seat with my wife here and surprise her and our babies in the back, riding in her first car from when she was 17? I'm excited to see her face."
Bonet's reaction was not much different from her husband's. "That's beautiful!" she said and added, "Holy cow. That is gorgeous... Not too flashy, but just enough." But do you know how she reached the car? Momoa carried her on her back! Aren't they the best? The couple then shared a kiss that could make anyone swoon.
Momoa, who shares children Lola, 13, and Nakoa-Wolf, 11, with Bonet called her "goddess" and "the boss" in his 2019 interview with Esquire. To Bonet, Momoa is the epitome of how men should be. While talking to Porter she said, "Jason embodies a rare form of masculinity in this day and age—he’s a leader; he’s generous. Just in terms of charisma, physique, the right use of power, responsibility, work ethic, you can go down the line."
