Jeffery Dean Morgan Married Hilarie Burton, His Partner of 10 Years | "Rather Than Make Vows Right out of the Gate, We Lived Them"

It was love at first sight and since then. they've never looked back. 10 years later, they finally exchanged their vows with their two kids by their side.

You may have seen him as Denny Duquette from Grey's Anatomy, Negan from The Walking Dead, or as John Winchester from Supernatural. But Jeffrey Dean Morgan is more than the role he plays on the big screen. Apart from being a brilliant actor, this talented man is a doting father, who recently took up a new role as a husband. He married actress Hilarie Burton, the star of One Tree Hill and White Collar, after 10 years of being together and bringing up their two adorable kids. The couple tied the knot recently in a private ceremony.

The couple first met in 2009, when the 53-year-old's Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, organized a blind double date for Jeffrey and Hilarie, along with himself and wife, Danneel Ackles, according to E! Online. Hilarie Burton, best known for her a role as the charming and soulful Peyton Sawyer in One Tree Hill, knew he was the one from the first moment they met.

“I happened to be single and Jensen [Ackles] said, ‘I’ve got a girl you should meet. So I went to a bar and I met Hilarie at a bar with Jensen and Danneel [Harris] and the rest is history,” he said, according to US Weekly. The sparks flew, a passion neither of them could deny, and “their relationship moved really quickly,” a source told the news outlet at the time.

“We ended up back at my house drinking shots of tequila. But she was really cool and somehow I talked her into—I was on my way to do a movie called The Resident in New Mexico and she was on her way to Paris—and I talked her into, instead of going to Paris, to come and see me in New Mexico. And I ruined her life and now she’s stuck with me," the smitten actor recalled.

But that wasn't all. Just a year after getting together, the couple welcomed their first child together, Augustus. "She told friends about her pregnancy back in August [2009] after she had spent a lot of time with Jeffrey on location in New Mexico," a source told E! Online. More than happy with their little bundle of joy, it was in 2014 when rumors of their marriage started cropping up after the couple covertly started referring to each other as husband and wife.

However, Morgan denied the rumors that Burton had actually walked down the aisle. Wanting to maintain a low profile, the couple had left the hustle and bustle of Hollywood behind for a more simple and humble lifestyle in the town of Rhinebeck in Dutchess County, New York. They were content to be just as they were, with their little boy to keep them company. Soon enough in 2018, they brought another member into their family, a little girl they named George Virginia, whose birth was in no way easy for the couple, according to Country Living.  The family even built their own farm and enjoyed the warmth and sense of community that came with living in the suburbs.

And now, 10 years after they first laid eyes on each other, gave into the desire they felt, and had two beautiful children, they exchanged vows in a secret ceremony on October 5, 2019, according to Mirror UK.

In her Instagram post, Burton put up a gorgeous picture of the couple embracing each other with the caption,

"This past weekend was the best of my entire life... Jeff and I just want to put it out there that WE GOT MARRIED! For real. We’ve lived as husband and wife for a decade. We’ve built a family, and a farm and found our community. For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I’ve been married and divorced before.
All untrue. But WE knew our truth. So it felt silly to try and correct anything."

She continued saying, "Here’s the God’s honest fact: From the moment I met @jeffreydeanmorgan , he was my husband. Rather than make vows right out of the gate, we lived them. For over ten years. The good times and the bad. Standing up there with our children at our sides—celebrating all that has been—was bliss. I love you Jeffrey. I love our intimate group of friends and family who joined us. I love the various circles of loved ones who have supported us over the years. It was private and magical and everything I dreamed.
So yeah. I’m Mrs. Morgan."

Well, all we can say is a hearty congratulations to the happy couple and the best wishes for a blissful and long life together.
