The One Tree Hill alum Hillarie Burton and The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan have one of the most enduring and steady relationships in Hollywood. Thanks to their relentless commitment to each other and their family. Both Burton and Morgan have experienced heartbreak before, so they have taken their lessons seriously and worked on their relationship for years.

Country Living quoted Morgan describing an incident shortly after their first date that reveals that they both felt something strong.

“I was on my way to do a movie called The Resident in New Mexico, and she was on her way to Paris, and I talked her into, instead of going to Paris, to come and see me in New Mexico. And I ruined her life and now she's stuck with me."

They started dating secretly in 2010 and in March the same year, Burton gave birth to their first child, Augustus. “I wasn’t necessarily wishing for love, but I wished for a baby for a really long time,” Instyle quoted Burton. Although things took a grim turn after the birth of their first child, Gus. The couple wanted to have a second baby, and Burton went through multiple miscarriages. This hurt her in more ways than one; she shared on Instagram how insecure she was after losing her babies and not being able to conceive.

Eventually, they welcomed their baby daughter in 2018. She shared a heartbreaking note, which revealed the pain couples go through due to miscarriages. "It took a long time for Jeffrey and I to have this baby. The first time I got pregnant, it took a year and a half. I surprised him on Christmas with baby Seahawk booties. We cried. We celebrated. We picked out names. And we lost that baby."

The couple is known to break away from the norms of Hollywood. They moved away from their LA home and opted for a country life instead. They bought a sprawling farm that's over 100 acres around the Hudson Valley's outdoors, and focus on building a sense of community for everyone around, according to poughkeepsie journal. They often post about their life on the farm and share amusing stories about living with animals and spending time outdoors.

So when it came to childbirth, they were no different. Morgan himself delivered the babies at home. “We didn’t use doctors, we used a midwife, so I delivered both of my kids,” he told PEOPLE. “The first time I didn’t know, I was shocked that I was part of it…[The second] time I was a little bit more prepared and got in and got her out immediately. Hilarie was over it, so it was awesome. I got to deliver both my kids, for real, it was cool.”

Talking about Gus' birth, the actor revealed that they put a lot of thought into his name and how having children with the love of his life is a dream come true. “I loved the name and Hilarie loved the name. Gus is named after Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. We got a weird western theme going on,” Morgan joked.

The Walking Dead star has been a hands-on dad for both his children. This picture captioned, "My girl. Got her daddy wrapped but good," says much about the proud daddy.

The parents of George Virginia Morgan, 1, and Augustus Morgan, 9, tied the knot in 2019, after almost a decade of togetherness. And if the pics were anything to go by, they looked elated and radiant as they celebrated their love by making it official. In a series of Instagram posts, the celeb couple confirmed that they had officially tied the knot, reported E!Online.

"This past weekend was the best of my entire life," Burton wrote to her fans. "There are dozens of thank yous I need to make. So bear with me over the next week as I gush over the amazing group of people who gave us this beautiful moment. But before we do any of that, Jeff and I just want to put it out there that WE GOT MARRIED! For real."

She added, "We've lived as husband and wife for a decade. We've built a family, and a farm and found our community," the actress continued. "For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I've been married and divorced before. All untrue. But WE knew our truth. So it felt silly to try and correct anything."

"From the moment I met @jeffreydeanmorgan, he was my husband," Burton shared with her social media followers. "Rather than make vows right out of the gate, we lived them. For over ten years. The good times and the bad. Standing up there with our children at our sides—celebrating all that has been—was bliss."

Morgan also took to his Instagram to share photos from the wedding, writing to his wife, "I'd say words... but there aren't any. Mrs Morgan.... I love you. Thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world."

Much like how they chose to give up the ease of city life to begin a more exciting, yet challenging adventure in their farm, this couple is a great example of how commitment is the cornerstone to success—in life and in love.
