She's an icon who has created a legacy around her movies and television show, but more than that she's a diva who's made aging look easy with her fitness goals.

Age is just a number, they say. And in Jennifer Aniston's case, it is not a factor at all. The Hollywood diva looks fit and fabulous even as she crossed 50 last year, not letting age get the better of her. Starting off her career from the hit television show FRIENDS, Jennifer Aniston has built her way up the ladder to who she is today. The actress looks better than ever and shows off her confidence in every project she takes up and has always been vocal about feeling the best in her 50s. She's aged gracefully owing to her lifestyle, diet, and the way she feels about herself. During an interview on The Ellen Show, she mentioned that she felt fantastic and couldn't wait to hit every new milestone in her life.



 

Aniston spoke about how living her life in her 40s has changed her mentality and the way she perceives physical fitness. “Not only do you feel better in your body physically, but you’re mentally better. Because, say, in your 20s, you didn’t know s**t. For me, in my 30s I was just trying to figure it all out. Then when you hit 40, you’re like, ‘Oh, OK. I got this,’” she told Harper’s Bazaar. However, even looking good takes hard work and patience, and during her time she's figured out what works and what doesn't for her body.

 



 

 

The secret behind Aniston's sculpted body in her late 40s has been an enigma, but her trainer Leyon Azubuike has explained to Shape magazine how she's maintained her body over the years and kept a healthy lifestyle. “Anything I throw her way, she brilliantly attacks it to the best of her abilities,” he told the publication. “She’s always receptive and open to trying new things and learning new techniques as we work out.” It's not a surprise how she's been able to keep her body fit owing it all to the time she's spent training and the hard work she's put in.

1. Always have a healthy and filling breakfast

A healthy lifestyle starts with the first meal of the day – breakfast. It's important to not skimp out on a healthy and filling breakfast as it keeps cravings at bay and keeps you energized for the rest of the day. Aniston swears by having a full breakfast, starting her day off with a warm glass of lemon water. Drinking a glass of lemon water detoxes your body first thing in the morning giving you the energy you need to kickstart your day. She further follows up with a thick shake and a healthy meal.

"A shake or avocado and eggs, which is one of my favorites ... I sprinkle a little coconut oil on that. Sometimes, I'll have a puffed millet cereal with a banana or I'll do oatmeal with an egg white whipped in at the end," she told The Cut. What you eat in the morning affects the overall functioning of your body and how it makes you feel for the rest of the day, so if you're a person with a busy lifestyle, pick go-to meals such as oatmeal or mix it up with fruits, vegetables, and eggs. Easy to put together and nutritious!

 

2. She's the queen of salads for a reason

Jennifer Aniston loves her salads and one of her favorites is the quinoa salad which is made with simple and fresh ingredients. Aniston and her FRIENDS co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox also recreated a version of the Cobb salad which they ate daily. She loves adding grains such as quinoa, bulgar, and tabouleh to keep it new and healthy every time. Even her lunch and dinners include a variety of salads, keeping it simple and familiar.

She prefers keeping her meals simple and healthy, heavy on the veggies with a mix of lean protein once awhile. "Eat as much organic fruit and vegetables as you can, keep sugar [intake] low, drink tons and tons of water, and get good sleep," she told Woman magazine. Include salads when you can into your meals as it helps keep your body feel light and healthy. Having salads is a rich source of fiber and also helps you maintain your weight. Eating a variety of salads, occasionally mixing in fruits as well can increase muscle performance and provide your body with the antioxidants it needs.

 

3. Choice of yoga or an hour of exercise

Aniston works with a personal trainer every day for an hour to get the incredible body she's managed to maintain all the way into her late 40s. Amidst her busy lifestyle, she manages to motivate herself to stay healthy and fit. She attends spin-yoga classes three times a week and mixes up with a variety of exercises at home. "I usually do a trifecta. Fifteen minutes on the bike, 15 on the treadmill running, and then 15 on the elliptical. You have to shake it up, you know, muscle confusion," she said

She also includes kickboxing to her exercise routines to keep it fun and interesting. “Last year I discovered boxing, and I love it,” she told InStyle in September. “It’s the longest workout I’ve actually stayed with consistently other than yoga. There’s something about the mental aspect of boxing – the drills, your brain has to work, you’re not just sitting on a bike. It’s amazing.”

4. Give in to the cravings once a while; you're human after all

Hey, who's to say that you can't have your cheat days once awhile. If you're mixing in an exercise routine daily with a healthy diet you shouldn't be worried about the cravings that are bound to crop up once a while. The key is moderation to everything you do. It's hard, but it takes hard work to maintain a figure like Aniston. Like a true Californian Girl, Aniston loves to indulge at her favorite Mexican restaurant where the pasta is her go-to meal. No harm in living life a little when you can kick back to your routine any time of the day. As long as you know what you want and keep the image of a healthy body in mind, you'll be fine.
