Jennifer Aniston has been a dog owner for many years and Lord Chesterfield is the latest addition to her life.
Pets are a source of joy and love. They cherish us as much as we cherish them, and some say that losing a pet is just as painful as losing a loved one. While all pets are amazing the relationship with dogs seems to be deeper and more fulfilling for many.
Jennifer Aniston, 51, has been in the entertainment industry for a while and has had a few relationships that were publicized and written critically about. However, the latest addition to her family is not one anyone can have anything negative to say about. And, that's because the current addition to her family is a four-legged furry creature. A dog mom to two already, she's now added the third puppy to her family.
The award-winning actress announced on October 11, "Hi! I’d like to introduce to you the newest member of our [paw emoji] family….this is (a very tired) Lord Chesterfield. He stole my heart immediately. A HUGE thank you to @wagmorpets for the incredible work you do. Grateful you take such great care of these rescues and find them their forever homes."
In the video, the Friends actress can be heard saying, "Chesterfield, have you fallen asleep with your bone in your mouth? I think you have?" The tiny white puppy has become a sibling to Clyde, a Schnauzer mix, and Sophie, a white pitbull. The Morning Show actress also shared pictures of them in April. The two dogs looked sleepy while they lazed around on her furniture, as per People magazine. "Big day..." she wrote on the photo of Clyde and "Exhausted" on the photo of Sophie, according to People.
Aniston also had a German shepherd called Dolly, whom she shared with ex-husband Justin Theroux. Dolly died in July 2019. Aniston and Theroux reunited to say goodbye to the "most loyal family member."
"Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle … our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield," Theroux captioned the post. "She was surrounded by her entire family. ‘The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful … is the dog — faithful and true, even in death.' -George Vest," he went on, concluding with, "Rest In Peace Dolly," according to People.com.
The Murder Mystery actress and The Girl on the Train actor wrapped their white German shepherd in a white blanket before putting her to rest. Saying goodbye to a beloved pet can be hard for anyone and the pain can be just as sharp as losing a person. Having a good friend like Theroux next to her probably gave Aniston some comfort.
Dolly, whom Aniston had had for almost a decade in 2015, and the former couple’s pit bull-boxer mix Sophie were part of their wedding ceremony. "They are like Jen’s babies," a source said. She and Theroux got married at home so that their dogs could be a part of their special day.
In December 2019, Aniston told People magazine that she almost got another puppy. "And my friend Ellen DeGeneres, as you know, loves nothing more than to bombard me with extremely heartbreaking photographs of animals that need homes. And by the way, if I could have a llama, a pig, an alpaca, sheep, goats, I would," she said. "But I have to be very sensitive to Clyde and Sophie," Aniston added, "Because it’s all about whether they are going to be happy."
The Rumor Has It actress also bid farewell to her 15-year-old hooch, a Welsh corgi-terrier mix, called Norman in 2011. The dog used to visit her sets and she cared for him as her child. "He’s my baby boy," she told People in February 2011. "Norman goes with me on location – I’ve got to take Norman," she added.
She was extremely attached to Norman and losing him would have been immensely painful. "Even back [as a puppy] he was as cool as a cucumber," Aniston said. "He’s just a person in a dog suit," she added.
With her love for canines, no wonder, Aniston took the role of a dog mom in Marley & Me. And now she's got a new baby to shower love on!
