The American Pie actress likes to keep her personal life to herself, and this is one of the rare times she is opening up about her dating life.
There are some actors who are remembered for their beauty than their acting prowess. However, Jennifer Coolidge, who rose to fame as the iconic Stifler’s Mom in the American Pie franchise and esthetician Paulette Bonafonté Parcelle in the Legally Blonde flicks, can claim both. The hilarious and gorgeous actress's talents lie in the comedy genre.
The 59-year-old woman recently revealed something hilarious about her dating life, in a rare interview about her personal life. While promoting her latest movie, Promising Young Woman, she told on The Kelly Clarkson Show, that she once faked being her own twin. This happened "quite a few years back," when she visited Hawaii by herself.
"When you come and you’re on vacation alone, you can kind of create anything you want," she explained. "I ended up meeting these two guys that were best friends, and I liked them both, so I told them that I had an identical twin, and I dated both guys," she added. "I don’t know if I would have the guts to do that now," said the 59-year-old, "but at the time, it was sort of a great decision because when you’re younger, you just get away with anything."
Coolidge, whose first appearance was in The Masseuse, an episode of Seinfeld, has come a long way since. She has a net worth of $8 million, as per Celebritynetworth. Coolidge used to be a regular on Two Broke Girls and continues to play a cougar on-screen, a journey that began in 1999. However, playing the role of a seductive mom on American Pie had real-life perks for her as it completely changed her life.
In 2013, she said that since the first American Pie film released, she spent more than 10 years dating much younger men. "I did date younger men after that movie. I really dated younger men for the next 10, 15 years," she said, reported the Express UK in 2013. She also admitted back then that she had been dating someone for 18 months, adding, "I've been dating someone now for... about a year and a half, and you know, he's a very smart, funny guy. And handsome. He's the whole package." However, the actress has never been married.
Maybe that's because she's always been obsessed with movies. When she was 10, she remade Jaws in her backyard. "I made [a] remake of Jaws. My dad swam with a fin on his back and my sister was the shark victim," she told Us Weekly.
Despite the light-hearted roles she picks up, she's actually trained to be an actor, having graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Art. She used to love movies even as a child. "I begged teachers to let me substitute movies for papers," she said. Even though she grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, her dreams were big. She can also likely put the Bridgerton cast to shame since she has "more costumes than regular clothes," she said.
One of the most relatable and endearing things she's ever said will make all of us nod in agreement. "I was born without any energy so every day involves at least 12 shots of espresso," she once said.
The star has said that she "gets along with" her exes. However, nobody knows who they are. She was once linked to comedian Chris Kattan, who is almost 10 years younger than her, as per Live RampUp. She was also linked to an actor called Banks McClintock, but neither of them confirmed the relationship.
The 59-year-old has managed to keep her love life out of the spotlight for many years, and still continues to do so. She was recently egged on by fans to take up the vacancy left by Kim Cattrall on the Sex and the City reboot. Coolidge revealed that she isn't interested in the role since no one "can replace" Cattrall, as per Daily Mail.
"I have to say I am such a Kim Cattrall fan, and I don't see anyone being able to replace her in that part," she said. "It was just the perfect ... I don't think you can replace her," she added.
