Last year many stars and well-wishers came together to celebrate Jennifer Garner's 50th birthday.
Jennifer Garner marked her 50th birthday with a party that she called a "wedding for me", however for this year's birthday, she decided to keep it low-key and sweet. The actress sat down for a chat with Extra recently and talked about how it felt to be 51 in a candid interview.
"I mean 51 is a lot less exciting than 50," the actress said, adding she was "going to plant trees" with friends. She is planning to keep everything under wraps and did not really reveal who she would plant trees with. Last year many stars and well-wishers including Reese Witherspoon, Rita Wilson, Maria Shriver, and Ina Garten came together to celebrate their friend's 50th.
The actress who is a mother of three daughters, Violet, 17, Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 10, is extremely passionate about growing produce. She has also created her own flavor of organic baby food. Garner talked about her passion for food in the same interview. When Garner was asked about her popular Instagram posts which she has dubbed the Pretend Cooking Show, she said that it could be a television show, and added, "That's as much as I'm going to do is do 'Pretend Cooking Show'... once a month is about right," the 13 Going on 30 actress said. "If I did it all the time…I would start to have to perform it and instead, you're really just with me as I'm cooking or baking something."
Garner also talked about her upcoming project with Apple TV+, a series called The Last Thing He Told Me. Garner said that she wanted to do the role as soon as she heard that Julia Roberts was no longer doing it. She also talked about the letter-writing campaign that ended up being a success in helping her get the role.
"I just wrote how I felt and why, you know, why this resonated with me, and it's not something I had done — certainly in recent memory and, or if ever — and I just kind of put it all out there. And luckily for me, I had an advocate in Reese [Witherspoon, who is an executive producer], I had an advocate in Laura and Josh, or advocates in Laura and, Josh and then Lauren Neustadter, our producer. So, I was very lucky to be here," she explained.
The series The Last Thing He Told Me is based on a novel by Laura Dave of the same name. The movie's plot revolves around Garner's character, Hannah, who is trying to build a relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) to unearth the truth behind her husband's sudden disappearance. The series is all set to premiere on April 14 and the trailer is out.
