Carving jack-o-lanterns is a Halloween tradition in many households. Jennifer Garner found the perfect hack to make the task easy-peasy. She used a hand mixer to blitz the pumpkin insides to a pulp. In a video clip posted on Instagram, she tried the hack herself. She shared her attempt and she was happy with the results. "Spoiler alert: the hand mixer hack works!" she captioned the post.
She is a KitchenAid partner so the brand was an obvious choice for the job. "When I was a kid, my friend's mom had a green [Stand Mixer] that I just coveted. But we had a hand mixer that we used for absolutely everything and it was a KitchenAid," she had told PEOPLE.
The video went viral with more than 7,20,000 likes on the video. Seeing her follow the hack, many on the Internet wanted to do the same. @weeliciouswrote, "Doing this TODAY!!!!!" Another user commented, "Yes!!!! Love that you opened it at the bottom. It's the best. You're so relatable and down to earth, love you!!"
However, she also credited the creator of the pumpkin cleaning hack, who is Barbara Babs Costello, also known as "everyone's grandmother" on a social media platform. She provides practical and caring tips that make one's life easier and everyone on the Internet loves them.
In the original post, Costello has provided other important tips which include: carving from the bottom, holding the pumpkin in your lap to carve, using special pumpkin carving cookie cuttenders and a rubber mallet to carve the design, and also to cover all cut surfaces with vaseline to keep the pumpkin moist after carving.
On Friday, Garner also posted a video of herself sitting at a dining table, with the song, "Me Against the Music". The actor is facing off against herself in different costumes. In one look, she is a ghostly bride. In the second, she appears to be channeling a character reminiscent of Winona Ryder’s goth teen from Beetlejuice, complete with black lace gloves and white face makeup. Her golden retriever also gets to be in the video, wearing a simple white ghost costume, as reported by Yahoo Entertainment. The video is captioned, "Boo". She has credited both Spears and @robertandmay as inspiration for the Halloween video.
In 2019, the actor dressed up as a mailbox. She had captioned it, "Live your truth, people." In May that year, she had given a speech at her alma mater, Ohio's Denison University. “When it comes to Halloween costumes, go funny over sexy. Why would you dress like a flirty nurse when you could be a mailbox?” she had said.
