A few reports claim that Sandra Bullock has secretly tied the knot with photographer beau Bryan Randall. The couple seems to have a beautiful relationship that they choose to keep off the public eye. But it was not an easy journey for the Miss Congeniality star. In 2010, she went through a devastating divorce from the man with whom she hoped to start a family. They had even begun the adoption process, which Bullock was so excited about, when all hell broke loose.
According to ABC News, Jesse James was having multiple affairs when Bullock was busy working at the peak of her career. Reports suggest that the motorcycle builder began lying to her and engaging in affairs when Bullock was busy filming Blind Side, which would go on to be her ticket to the elite club of Oscar winners. James and Bullock tied the knot in 2005; Bullock thought she was living the perfect life, so when she got to know what was happening behind her back, it hurt her in ways beyond words. There was a time when Bullock blamed herself for her failed relationship and thought she was permanently broken.
James later admitted that he was cheating on his wife and said that it's just a part of life. Many thought that it was a rather cold response to the magnitude of his actions.
What was heartbreaking though was the fact that the 52-year-old actress trusted him so much and believed she had the most supportive husband. When she won the Golden Globes award, in a rather emotional acceptance speech, she thanked James for being by her side. At this point, she was completely unaware of his infidelity. In front of a full house, with tears in her eyes, she said, "and to my husband, there is no surprise that my work got better when I met you because I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back. So thank you!"
At the SAG Awards, Bullock won again for best actress and thanked James during her speech, "You get dressed up in monkey suits and you sit at a table with people you don't know," she said. "And I leave you there, and then you come back with, like, Morgan Freeman's e-mail [address]. I don't know how you do it. I love you so much, and you're really hot. And I want you so much!"
After such public declarations of gratitude and affection, when stories about James' infidelity started cropping up, Bullock's world came crashing down. And it wasn't just one time or one woman, not that it means any less to be cheated on just once. But multiple women came out and confessed about their affairs with James. The pain and embarrassment left a deep scar on the Bird Box actress. While James did issue an apology at the time, the emotional damage was too deep to heal.
"There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me," James said in a statement quoted by ABC News. He added that a "vast majority" of the allegations made against him are "untrue and unfounded," but "it's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way." James went on to say, "This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me."
But Bullock was beyond broken! The couple parted ways in 2010. It was her son Loius who helped her move on, and she was glad she went ahead with the adoption even with her ex-husband out of the picture.
"I was OK about being alone but when you have a child everything is about exploration and being around other kids and being out in the world and seeing things," she said, reported Business Standard. "So now I see things through his eyes. I haven't ever gone out and explored and done things before like I have in the last three years."
She added, "I have the best life right now because I'm enjoying every single moment of this amazing human being. I'm learning how to have a good time through him... I've got everything I want, and it couldn't be sweeter, better, or more fulfilling." She went on to adopt another beautiful child, Laila when she was four months old; the doting mom calls her little girl "fearless" and a "fighter," according to Hello Magazine.
Here's to the strong woman and her beautiful family!
