John and Chrissy Teigen, who are also parents to daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4, welcomed their daughter, Esti on January 13.
All of John Legend already loves his newborn daughter so much. One month after the singer and wife Chrissy Teigen welcomed their daughter Esti Maxine Stephens on January 13, he is looking back at their first days as a family of five.
"It was making me emotional the first two nights we were home because I just felt the love expand in the house," John told The Wall Street Journal in an interview published on February 13, "and I felt the excitement."
The couple spends quality time with their children and with each other. Recently, they were also seen enjoying a stroll together.
Chrissy and John, who are also parents to daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4, announced their third child's arrival during a private concert shortly after her birth, per E! John, 43, told a crowd at a private concert that they welcomed "the little baby this morning."
"What a blessed day," he said, per PEOPLE.
The singer added that while he "didn't get a lot of sleep" he "feels energized" after spending "a lot of time" at the hospital. Attendees of the special concert immediately took to social media to share the big baby news. "@johnlegend just told us he had a baby this morning," one concertgoer wrote on Twitter.
Following the exciting news, John told E! that ahead of Esti's arrival, he and Chrissy did not know how Luna and Miles would feel about having a newborn around. "We weren't sure how they would take it," the Grammy winner said in a February 2 episode of E! News. "I felt like they were a little jealous when mommy was pregnant."
But when their sister came home, the kids welcomed her with love and warmth. "But as soon as Esti arrived," John continued, "they're just exploding with love and joy, and they're so caring and loving toward her. They want to hold her, they want to kiss her and it's really exciting."
As for why they named her Esti, John noted that it has sentimental family value. "It turns out, my great-grandmother was named Esther," he told E! News that same month. "It wasn't intentionally after someone but once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, 'Oh, my great-grandmother's name was Esther'."
John and Chrissy announced they were expecting another baby in August 2022, two years after the author suffered from a pregnancy loss in October 2020. And Chrissy, who has been open about her fertility struggles and in-vitro fertilization journey, reflected on the emotional time when she shared the joyous news.
"The last few years have been a blur of emotions, to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again," Chrissy wrote on Instagram on August 3. "1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way."
