Four decades after the musical hit released, its stars brought it back to life for fans.
In the history of Hollywood cinema, Grease is perhaps one of the most memorable musical rom-coms with actors John Travolta and Olivia-Newton John perfectly blending into their roles of Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson, respectively. And now after 41 years, the two actors have teamed up to recreate their iconic Grease looks, making it a very merry Christmas for the fans of the entertainers and the movie.
Recently, Travolta, 65, and Newton-John, 71 made their appearance as the legendary couple during the Meet n’ Grease sing-along event at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to Independent UK. Throughout the following weekend of the event, the actors took to Instagram to post the happenings.
In a picture posted by Newton-John, you can see the Two of a Kind actress donning a yellow cardigan and matching skirt, something that matched her "good girl" image she portrayed in the 1978 movie. Standing by her was Travolta who still seems to rock his "bad-boy" image in an all-black ensemble and the iconic leather jacket, still able to make us swoon with his heartthrob looks. She captioned the image “First time in costume since we made the movie. So excited!!”
In the video posted by both stars, you can see them looking at each other adoringly before the Pulp Fiction actor turns around with a slight smirk on his face and a smoldering gaze that just pierces you.
However, by the end of the evening, "Sandy" had changed into her bad girl outfit, sporting her leather jacket and black leggings, just like the one she wore at the end of the film.
Together, Travolta and Newton-John answered fan questions at the Q&A that came after the sing-along, reported People. The stars also informed their audience that they were hosting three very special screenings of their hit movie musical in mid-December after which they promised fans they would join them after each screening for a round of Q&A. They also encouraged them to dress up and sing along to the movie.
This amazing reunion happened a month after the famous leather jacket Newton-John wore was auctioned off. Having battled through cancer multiple times since 1992, the actress meant for that money to raise funds for her Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Center, a project close to her heart. However, though the jacket was bought for a whopping $243,000 and given to the center, the actual costume was returned to the star by the buyer for her to put it permanently on display at the Melbourne, Australia-based research institute, reported HuffPost.
What a fantastic day we had yesterday! It was an honor to welcome Olivia Newton-John to our visitor Centre to personally unveil her collection. The Exhibition now open to the public will be running till the 18th of August. pic.twitter.com/kMY7XfGmWD

The anonymous buyer, who had described himself as the actress' number one fan, said in a video posted on Facebook by Julien's Auctions, "This jacket belongs to you and the collective soul of those who love you, those for whom you are the soundtrack of their lives. It should not sit in a billionaire's closet for country club bragging rights. For this reason, I humbly and respectfully return it to its rightful owner, which is you," reported CNN. In the same video, Newton-John seemed stunned when she recognized what she saw in the bright pink, gift-wrapped box. "Are you serious?" she said before giving the man a huge hug. "That is the sweetest thing."
As for the place that the money is going to, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre "has over 200 clinical trials in progress, providing access to new, breakthrough therapies" and is "a positive healing Centre to support people on their cancer journey." Well, looks like Christmas came early for the actors and their fans!
