Years have gone by and they've gone through immense tragedy together, yet John Travolta and Kelly Preston continue to be the love of each others' lives.
It may be 28 years since Pulp Fiction star, John Travolta, and Jerry Maguire star, Kelly Preston have been married, but the love between them seems to have never diminished.
The couple recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Thursday and in an extremely adorable way. They took to Instagram and posted sweet tributes to each other with pictures of the romantic meal they shared, reported People.
John, 65, put up a picture of him and the love of his life while at the dinner, writing, “Happy Anniversary to my wonderful wife ♥️ @therealkellypreston.”
In the same manner, Kelly, 56, shared a photo of them on Instagram and wrote a heartwarming note to the man she adores. “To my dearest Johnny, the most wonderful man I know. You have given me hope when I have felt lost, loved me patiently and unconditionally… made me laugh harder than any other human being possible… shared the most beautiful highs and at times lows,” she wrote.
She also added, “You’re a dream Daddio and make life so much fun!! I trust my love with you implicitly… with you I know I will always be okay no matter what happens… I love you forever and completely. Happy 28th Anniversary @johntravolta 💕♥️.”
Not wanting to miss the chance to reciprocate that sentiment, the Golden Globe-winning actor replied to her post saying, “I love you so much Kelly! Thank you for all your love and for being such a wonderful wife and mother @therealkellypreston.
While there may be some skeptics who believe that such displays are pretentious, the story of their marriage and love says otherwise. In June 2018, Kelly spoke to talk show host, Andy Cohen, during What Happens Live! about how she fell in love with John while she was still married to actor Kevin Gage. “I was not that happily married, let’s put it that way,” she said. “I was really with the wrong person.”
But with him, she is truly happy. Married since 1991, they have three children together and have been going strong all these years. And they've been through thick and thin, especially when they lost their son Jett, who was autistic, to a seizure while they were on vacation. Instead of letting his death take a toll on their relationship, they stuck by each other, giving each other the space to let out their grief without feeling alone.
When Andy Cohen asked her what the best part of being married to the talented actor is, the actress couldn't keep her love from spilling over. “There’s too many best things,” she admitted. “His lips, dancing, fun, laughing. [We dance] all the time, all the time. The kids dance with us, we go out dancing. We love it.”
John is no less vocal when it comes to talking about his wife. Talking to Us Weekly during the promotion of his film Gotti, he said about their first meeting, “She came in this, this gorgeous woman. We had an immediate chemistry." Though he knew she was married at the time, he couldn't help but see where their chemistry would take them so a 37-year-old John struck up a conversation with her.
“I remember she was going down the steps. And I was on top, and I said, ‘May I ask you a question?’ and she said, ‘Yes,’ and I said, ‘What’s it like to be married? Is it a good thing?’” Her response took him aback though. “She said, ‘I love it,’” and I thought, ‘Wow, wouldn’t it be great to be married to someone who loves being married?’”
And then the rest was history. Well, we wish them tons of marital bliss and pray that their marriage remains as strong and healthy as it is today.
