It took months of trying until Preston, at the age of 47, discovered she was pregnant again, per PEOPLE. The news left both of them overwhelmed with emotion, and they shared a tearful moment of happiness. Preston described the experience as "wonderful" and expressed her disbelief that it was actually happening. "When I found out I was pregnant, I was floored. I'd snuck out of bed and then came back and woke Johnny up in bed. We both started crying. It was wonderful," she had confessed. "I didn't (consider the risks). I just considered that it was difficult. I never thought that would be me at all. So, I think we're just really happy that we're so fortunate," she revealed on the Today Show.
Their third child, Benjamin, was born on November 23, 2010, in Florida. The delivery was a calm and peaceful cesarean section, with Preston describing it as a "silent" event. Despite being aware of the risks associated with her age, Preston considered the pregnancy a "miracle" and did not have any doubts about proceeding. She cherished the intimate connection she shared with her babies during pregnancy and reveled in the experience. Benjamin's arrival brought a sense of healing to their family, as it occurred two years after the devastating loss of their son, Jett. Although they missed Jett every day, Benjamin's birth provided solace and hope for the future. The name Benjamin was chosen by Travolta, reflecting their shared love for the name.
Kelly Preston's dedication as a mother was evident, and she cherished the moments spent nurturing her children. Unfortunately, her untimely passing means she will not be able to witness Benjamin's growth into the remarkable man she believed he would become.
On July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston passed away after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer.
