When it comes to his children, the former wild child of Hollywood is putty. He still hasn't had enough of kids.

Actor Josh Brolin, aka Thanos of Avengers: Endgame fame, and the son of Hollywood veteran James Brolin may seem like a tough guy but he melts when it's about his youngest child, who was born in November 2018. The 51-year-old dad isn't a new father but he's definitely a devoted dad and husband. He has two grown-up kids but the joy of becoming a father again is probably still the same as it was the first time.

The actor, who believes he is still coming into his own, has always enjoyed parenthood. In fact, the first time he became a father was in his early twenties. Josh has two children, Trevor and Eden Brolin, from a previous marriage. "She [Alice Adair] was the mother of my children. I'm still best friends with her. I ended up having two amazing kids, so it turned out okay. No, that was a good year. That was my favorite year. It was the year my whole life changed. I had kids and I started doing theatre," he told the Guardian.

Joshua James Brolin has been known for being part of some great movies like The Goonies, Men in Black 3, No Country for Old Men, Hollow Man, Grindhouse, American Gangster, among other top-grossing movies. He had known both love and heartbreak before he married Kathryn Boyd in 2016. Boyd, a former model and journalist, worked for him as his assistant for two years before they fell in love.

The couple announced their engagement in 2015 and got married on September 24, 2016. After two years of wedded bliss, the couple had their first child, Westlyn Reign Brolin, together.

Josh's father James was quoted by AP News as saying that the Avengers actor left everything to take care of his newborn in 2018. In fact, he took a long paternity leave and made producers wait for him while he cared for his daughter, according to Fatherly.com. "He dropped everything. You know how busy he was, for sure, he literally stopped everything and nothing but diapering for three months," James, who is married to Barbara Streisand, said.

Before welcoming his new child, the actor went through a huge change in life. He knew he was down a harmful path and had to change that to have a happy family life."I used to think you should try to deconstruct everything. Experience everything. Just get yourself out there. But I don't believe that anymore. Having adventures is all very well, but an imagination can make up for all that. That's the more intelligent way to be. And it keeps you out of harm's way," he told the Guardian.

He lost his mom, Jane Cameron Agee, in his early 20s, which had affected him deeply. He made some real efforts to get past that and focus on living in the present with his loved ones. Meanwhile, the lacuna left by his mom has been filled by Streisand, at least partially.

After Westlyn was born, his wife got Streisand a gift that melted the veteran actress' heart. "My wife got her a bracelet that said ‘Grandma’ on it and she started crying. She is one of those ... it’s annoying but in a really great way, [with] emails every day and like, 'Hey, I thought of this name, what do you think of that? ... When can I come over and feel the baby?'" he told AP News.

In January 2019, Boyd had shared a lovely image of the family captioning it "I love my family." Their little one was in a baby carriage while the couple stood next to her, according to the Daily Mail. "I’ve seen him morph into this new father figure and immediately fall into this beautiful place caring for this new baby. He’s naturally so happy around children," Boyd told Fatherly.

Now, he makes sure he spends as much time with all his kids as possible. "I will have lived a lifetime of children and that’s wonderful to me," he told Fatherly. He added, "I don’t think we’re done."
