For nearly 80 years, June Lockhart has been a part of the industry, making her a veteran. Born June 25, 1925, Lockhart made an early appearance in show business. She was first seen in A Christmas Carol with her parents in 1938, according to The Famous People. Lockhart has had an amazing career since then, but she is still known best for her role as a mother in both Lost in Space and Lassie, per Do You Remember? In an interview, Lockhart once described Lassie as, “a fairy tale about people on a farm in which the dog solves all the problems in 22 minutes, in time for the last commercial.” While she was filming for Lost In Space, she got close to actor Bill Mumy, who played her son in the show, who went on to reveal a rather surprising thing about her.

Mumy shared that Lockhart always carried an image of a famous personality with her at all times, and it was none other than rock icon David Bowie, according to Me TV. "June is such an interesting character... She is, without a doubt, one of the smartest people I’ve ever met in my life. She is truly a rock & roll goddess. I swear to god. She lives for rock & roll. In the Eighties, she carried a picture of one person in her wallet and it was David Bowie."

Though Mumy himself went on to pursue a career in music, he went on record to reveal that it was actually his on-screen mom that introduced him to the world of rock-n-roll. "In 1967, she hired the Allman Brothers Band, which was at the time called Hour Glass, to come play a party at her house. She took me and Angela Cartwright to the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in the Summer of Love. To hang out with the Allman Brothers Band at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go. She’s a character and she is a rock & roll gal.”

Another thing that makes her really special is the fact that she is one of the very few celebrities that have been given two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, per the website. She received both of them on the same day February 8, 1960—one for her work in motion pictures and the other for her work on television!

Also, she was bestowed with the Exceptional Public Achievement Medal by NASA to appreciate her efforts in helping the public become more interested in space.
