For Justin Timberlake, Wife Jessica Biel Is “Single-Handedly the Most Significant Person” in His Life

Actress Jessica Biel never dreamed of having kids and family while growing up but meeting Justin changed her life.

Actress Jessica Biel never imagined herself settled with a family and kids when she was growing up, but meeting Justin Timberlake changed her life. She found herself wanting things she didn't know she craved for.

"Honestly, I didn't grow up dreaming about having kids and having a family. I was so focused on my career and so focused on my selfish existence, haha, but I think meeting my husband inspired me. One day I just woke up and knew it's what I wanted to do and it's been the hardest, greatest thing ever and I wouldn't give it up for the world," she said on Reddit

Married for almost seven years and together for almost 12 years, this couple has found the key to a successful relationship. She says that it is important to keep inspiring each other. "I hope I'm inspiring to him," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I think having a partner who is doing something that you're excited about — like for me, his music and everything that he does — it's just amazing to see somebody doing what they love, and I think it can be as simple as that."

The Hollywood couple, who have one son, aged four, met way back in 2007 Golden Globes. Their meet-cute was actually witnessed by Jessica's 7th Heaven costar Beverley Mitchell. She told Access Hollywood Live, "I was there like the moment the love connection happened. I was like, 'OK, this is happening.' It was very, very sweet. They were definitely flirting. They were really cute."

In 2012, Justin Timberlake opened up about how their relationship took off. "There was nothing starry about the way we got together. It was very un-Hollywood-esque, in fact," recalled Timberlake to Us Weekly. "We met and got talking. Afterwards I asked my friend if I could call her and ask her out. My friend called Jessica and Jessica said yes, and so I called her."

"I did it the old fashioned way — by telephone," Timberlake said. "I had to be pretty persistent in order to get her to say yes. But I have a fair amount of tenacity and if I want something I stick to it. And in the end she agreed," he added.

Both of them were at a stage in their careers where they had much to achieve. So, the initial few days of the relationship they were actually doing long-distance, added the Valentine's Day star.

"We didn't kiss for a very long time because he was on tour, and we were talking on the phone, like normal pre-teens do," she said on The Late Late Show With James Corden. "We were just chatting on the phone for hours. So, we never really kissed for a very long time." Still, she knew early on that he was her soulmate. She still has an email she had sent to her producing partner that said: "I will marry this man."

Even though both of them were so sure of each other, things got a little rocky in 2011. They broke up for three months and the rumor mill got working, which forced Justin to clarify. He told Vanity Fair, "She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life. In my 30 years, she is the most special person, O.K.?  I don’t want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me — for instance, her. I would rather not talk about her, because it's hurtful for me. It's unfortunate that even though you make the effort to say something, which I tried on for size, people do what they want to do."

A few months later, they decided to give the relationship another chance and things just worked out for the best. He proposed to her in Montana and later named a song after the place.

"I proposed there, so it has a really special meaning," he told Amazon Music, according to Redbookmag. "That’s really where it started from. It’s really about this moment when you’re saying, ‘I want to make this step.’”

In 2015, they welcomed their son, Silas Randall Timberlake, and have been enjoying parenthood together. Last year, she wrote him a loving birthday message on social media. "Here's to a spectacular year ahead. I'm so proud of all you've accomplished and all that is ahead for you. plus you're a super hot dad," she wrote on Instagram. "I'm here, right by your side, OG fan girl #1. Happy birthday, my beloved. Now go crush it this weekend at SB LII."
