Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory fame" married Karl Cook in 2018 after dating for two years.
For some people, it takes a few tries to find the one. They might have loved others but when they find their soulmate, everything and everyone that came before seem drab in comparison. Kaley Cuoco, 35, of The Big Bang Theory (BBT) fame, who married Karl Cook, 30, in 2018 after dating for two years, recently shared a loving message for her partner on social media. The post ended up creating a stir since it seemed like she was also making a comment on her past partners, one of whom was her BBT co-star and friend Johnny Galecki.
Cuoco shared on Instagram, "Happy 5 years to the weirdest person I know!" She added, "I don’t remember a moment before you entered my life.. what a boring life that must have been! I love you @mrtankcook!" Galecki commented on this saying "Um" and nothing else. The Flight Attendant actress, who recently became a Golden Globe nominee, responded saying, "Lol."
But who is Karl Cook, the man who made this funny woman's past seem boring compared to what it is now? The couple met in March 2016 at a horse show in California, and it was their mutual love for horses that got them talking. He is an equestrian who participates in - and wins - horse races. In 2016, he and his horse Farrari won the blue ribbon in the SmartPak Grand Prix.
But he had no idea who Cuoco was. "It was great because he never kissed my ass at all, and he never cared about any of that," she told Women's Health Mag. "He loved that I loved horses. It became a big talking point for us," she added.
The BBT alum was in the process of divorcing her now ex-husband Ryan Sweeting, who she split from in September 2015 after nearly two years of marriage, according to Us Weekly. In September 2016, months after her divorce was finalized, Cuoco revealed how besotted she was with Cook.
"I couldn’t be happier. I feel very, very lucky that I found someone like him," said the former 8 Simple Rules star in September 2017, as per Us Weekly. She also explained why they are the perfect match. "I like to torture him and he doesn’t get mad at me. He just lets me do it! I’m just constantly trying to rib him," Cuoco joked. "He’s got such a great sense of humor. I like it when I’m bugging him, bugging him and then I finally get that laugh which just kills me. He’s just … I don’t know. He’s a real person and I think the big deal was knowing how much he loves dogs and horses — that’s always on my checklist. 'Must love dogs' is number one and he checked that off quite quickly and I fell very hard," she added.
It didn't take long for him to be on the same page as her. Cook, the son of billionaire Scott Cook who founded a tax software company, proposed to her on her 32nd birthday. "Still crying every part of this night has been perfection just like you @mrtankcook I love you forever!" Cuoco captioned the video of the moment she said, "Yes!"
One of the best things about her relationship is that she knows she doesn't need her husband "for anything." The Harley Quinn actress told Women's Health Mag, "If Karl left me tomorrow, I’d be fine. And he knows that, and he would be fine too." However, that doesn't mean she doesn't love him.
"I like to tell my friends, 'Always make sure you have your life going, and that you’re number one, so that anyone who comes into it—husband, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, however you roll—that’s just an added bonus to something you’re already creating,'" she added.
Cook is so secure in their relationship that he also hung out with his wife's ex, Galecki, on set.
They got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot in 2018 in a simple ceremony. He doesn't hide any of his love for his wife from the world. On her birthday in 2018, he wrote, "I love you so much. What a year we have had. From getting engaged and married to adopting ponies and rabbits and shoulder surgery. Every day I love you more and more my angel. You are my whole world. Happy birthday!!!!" They continue to live a fun and quirky life together.
