The only good thing to come out of this is the fact that William and Kate are now stronger than ever.
There has been a lot of turmoil in the lives of Prince William, Prince Harry, and their spouses. Now, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are estranged from the royal family as they set up their lives in California, after stepping back from their senior royal family roles in January 2020, according to ELLE.
While Harry went back home a couple of times, Meghan hasn't gone ever since her final duties in 2020. A close insider told PEOPLE that even though it has been about two years since the departure, Kate has been "really, really upset about it all".
The only good thing that's come out of the issue is that William and Kate are now stronger than ever, added the source. “Everything with Harry and Meghan has been hugely stressful, but if anything, it’s pulled [her and William] closer together,” the source said. “She was upset about it because [William] was so upset. Seeing her husband so distraught was tough.” The source then said that generally, Middleton is “no pushover. She has an inner strength for sure.”

The Duchess of Cambridge has not spoken about her brother-in-law and his wife in public, nor has she defended the couple, even when they were constantly being targetted by the tabloids. In fact, she was also quick to change the subject during a visit to a school when one of the students asked about Meghan and Harry. "What else?" she promptly responded.
It's not like the two women were close in real life, either. Royal reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote in their 2020 Sussex biography Finding Freedom that “Meghan would agree with the assessment that the duchesses were not the best of friends. Their relationship hadn’t progressed much since she was Harry’s girlfriend.”
A source told Scobie and Durand that Kate felt the two didn’t have much in common “other than the fact that they lived at Kensington Palace.”
Apart from all of this, there has been a lot of other things happening within the family, including the fact that 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II has been staying away from some of the public events because of concerns over her health. As a result, she is now closer than ever to the inevitable moment where she becomes the king's wife after William takes the throne from his grandmother.
She is "more and more impressive as time goes on," says a source close to the royal household. "She is a focused and professional woman."
