Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt is from a big family and revealed that she's very close to her siblings. In her new children's book, Schwarzenegger Pratt explains why she and her sister Christina have such a close relationship.

"Just based off of how Christina and I were raised by my mom, so much (of my upbringing) was done really gently and lovingly and not comparing the two (of us)," she told TODAY. "It's about allowing kids to be celebrated for their own individual interests, separate from each other while allowing kids to also understand that the bond they have with a sibling close in age means they have a built-in playmate and, later in life, a built-in best friend," she added.

The mother-of-two recently came out with a children's book, Good Night, Sister that celebrates the bond between sisters. "We're so close in age — we did everything together — so I wanted to write a children's book that was celebrating the relationship between sisters," the 33-year-old explained.

Schwarzenegger Pratt had some advice for other parents with more than one child. While the writer was pregnant with her second child she considered "the language that you use with your first child" in order to not have any "bad feelings or negative feelings towards the next child."

"Never using the second child as an excuse not to do something with the first child," she said. "I've definitely been very interested in making sure that I'm prepared, language-wise, to be mindful with my words and my actions and to always allow them to feel equally loved, equally supported and individually, uniquely their own people," she elaborated.

Schwarzenegger Pratt shares 2-year-old Lyla and an 8-month-old Eloise with Chris Pratt. The couple met for the first time in 2018. Speaking with Extra to celebrate Jurassic World — The Ride!, Pratt told the outlet that he and Schwarzenegger knew a lot of the same people and that their meeting was "kismet," meaning destined and inevitable. “We met at church!" he revealed to the outlet. "There’s a lot of kismet… a lot of connections, but that is where we met," she said.

Despite Schwarzenegger Pratt's parents Arnold and Maria Shriver's messy divorce, the Schwarzenegger family still routinely get together. More recently on the occasion of Thanksgiving in 2022, Schwarzenegger Pratt and her husband baptized their then 6-month-old daughter Eloise. The author shared a picture of her famous father Arnold, 75, giving his granddaughter Eloise a tender kiss on the cheek at her baptism at church. "A weekend of yummy food, lots of love, a baptism, first holiday season, and family," she captioned the photo carousel on Instagram, at the time. "I am so grateful and thankful for these memories ♥️."
