Katy Perry's relationship with Russell Brand was a much-talked-about affair and so was her divorce. For almost six months, she chose to maintain a stoic silence about her very public break-up, but when she decided to speak about her experience, her fans could relate to her pain.

She revealed that she tried hard to keep her marriage alive because she loved Brand, but she started feeling lonely and humiliated in the marriage. Despite the emotional turmoil and having a demanding job, she still refused to give up and tried to make it work.  But Brand didn't make it easy for her.

"He started making jokes about me and he didn’t know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows," LA Times quoted her. "Hysterical to a point. I mean, I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could. You saw that in the movie,” she said, referring to the documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me.

Explaining why she refused to call it quits early on, she said, "I have that same belief system with everything, from career to my life to my personal life, everything. And I will do everything it takes to not fail," she shared. "And I did everything it took, but it still failed," quoted MTV.

She was going through a lot of confusion and pain, but little did she know that the worst was yet to come. The biggest blow came when her husband, a renowned British comedian,  texted her asking for a divorce moments before she went on stage. One can only imagine how heartbreaking that moment would have been for her, especially when she had to face a huge crowd in a couple of minutes. In 2012, the couple parted way citing irreconcilable differences.

She went on to date fellow crooner John Mayer, but that didn't last long too as if life was prompting her not to settle for any less than what she truly deserves. Finally, in 2016, she met actor Orlando Bloom and things moved rather swiftly. After three years of on-and-off dating, Bloom proposed to her in 2019 in a fairytale fashion, which shows how much he valued her. He wanted to go out of his way to treat her the way she deserves to be treated.

In a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel on his show, she revealed that he proposed to her in a helicopter, which later landed on a building where all her family and friends were waiting to congratulate her. This gesture of Bloom also shows that when a person really wants to have someone in their life, they will not shy away from doing whatever it takes to win them over and solidify the relationship.

“I got on a helicopter and he asked me to marry him, and then we landed on this building and then went downstairs and my family and friends were there and the most flowers you’ve ever seen," she said. "It’s like when Kanye does that for Kim, you’re like, ‘Oh my God!' And I was like, ‘Oh my God!'”

During an appearance on Today, Bloom who has also been through a failed relationship earlier said, “It’s important to me that we are aligned—I’ve been married and divorced and I don’t want to do it again... And we’re both fully aware of that. She’s remarkable and so I’m always so impressed with that and I’m encouraged.”

It would not be wrong to say that Bloom understands the intricacies of a relationship after his own heartbreaks, which makes both of them aware of how important it is to strike a delicate balance for both partners to feel appreciated and loved.

Recently on American Idol, Perry doled out another important aspect of their relationship. She highlighted the importance of "space" to keep a relationship healthy. "One thing that’s going very well in my current relationship—yes, I did secure the ring—one thing I have noticed that is really helpful giving each other a little space," she said.

PEOPLE reported that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's wedding that was supposed to take place in Japan has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. "It was all set for Japan with 150 guests," an insider told the outlet. "Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant."

However, a piece of big, happy news has already come their way, and Perry decided to reveal it to the world in style. The 35-year-old singer released the video for her newest song Never Worn White, and the last few seconds confirmed what fans have been speculating all along: she's expecting!

The video closes with a profile shot of Perry's body revealing a growing baby bump, Fox News reported.

The lyrics of the song goes, "I've never worn white, but I wanna get it right with you."  Fans believe that this is a beautiful, heartfelt ode to Bloom and their relationship.
