Motherhood is a life-changing experience for most women. It is no different for Katy Perry. The pop singer welcomed her daughter Daisy with her fiance Orlando Bloom on August 27, 2020, through an announcement on UNICEF's official Twitter page.

"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter. But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was," wrote the couple, at the time. Since the arrival of their baby girl, Perry has not stopped gushing about motherhood and her love for Daisy. Recently, Perry candidly spoke about her experience during an Instagram live chat with supermodel Miranda Kerr, who was previously married to Bloom and has a son with him.

"I got the opportunity to climb every single mountain, especially career-wise, and see those views, and a lot of them I was really grateful for. But there was no feeling like the feeling when I had my daughter. I mean, that was like all the love that I was ever searching for. It was like, bam!" said Perry with gratitude, according to Today.

She revealed that the unwavering love of her daughter made motherhood very special. Perry also claimed that she is happy she embarked upon the journey of motherhood now than postponing it for later.

"I'm so glad I didn't keep bulldozing ahead. It's amazing to have this opportunity to be a business woman, but at 36 and at 35 or 34, when I was like, 'OK, I'm ready,' I'm so glad I made the conscious decision to try and do that because I didn't want to miss out on that opportunity. I'm so glad I didn't miss out on that opportunity and put some real intention into it. It's been the best thing, but you know that, because you've got three," said Perry to Kerr.

Unsurprisingly, This is not the first time Perry is opening up about the new role in her life.

In December 2020, the singer told Elle, "[Daisy] is the greatest gift I’ve ever received. I think what children do, in general, is teach you that all you need is love."

Perry, who has never shied away from addressing her struggles also reflected on the hardships she faced as a new mother during the pandemic.

"I’ve had my breaking points. I made a conscious decision to become a mother, but I didn’t know until I became a mother that you have to strike a balance. [Motherhood is] all the clichés and more. Let me tell you as someone who has done and seen everything, there’s nothing better than having a beautiful, pure child. They’re just the epitome of love," said the 36-year-old.

Perry also claimed her life significantly changed for the good after the arrival of her baby girl. "She changed something really important inside of me, and I feel that in everything I do now, I think of her. I think where she'll be when she's 36, what is this planet going to look like? How can I do my part? How can I change myself to be a better human being every day so that she can have a fantastic life?" said the singer, according to Popsugar.

Undoubtedly, Perry is embracing her new responsibilities and surely enjoying them too.
