"We were in bed. We were connected," Keanu Reeves recalled.
There are many things about Keanu Reeves that make his fans appreciate him, but the best one of them all is that he's always grateful for little joys. Reeves, 58, was questioned about his last moment of bliss while speaking with PEOPLE. He quickly responded, "A couple of days ago with my honey," the actor said of his longtime girlfriend, artist Alexandra Grant, 49.
Reeves, whose latest film John Wick: Chapter 4 recently hit the theatres, appeared to be very grateful to his partner. "We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together," he shared.
The Matrix actor first appeared on the red carpet with artist Alexandra Grant at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in November 2019. It seems that the relationship between Grant and Reeves has been appreciated by almost everyone. Reeves' co-star in John Wick 4, Rina Sawayama also has her views on it.
The 32-year-old actress and vocalist revealed exclusively to PEOPLE, while walking down the red carpet at the film's premiere in New York City, that she admires the relationship Reeves has with his longtime girlfriend. "They're wonderful," Sawayama said. "We actually were able to spend some time in Berlin ... had some dinners, and it was great group dinners and that was wonderful. Beautiful, beautiful as a couple, beautiful people," she revealed.
The couple is "just sweet" and "really warm," Sawayama expressed. "They're just very normal, honestly," she said, referring to a group visit they took to an exhibition of Grant's work while filming. "It just felt really natural and just human. I don't know again like, I've used the word 'celebrity' because often I feel like Keanu can switch off his celebrity, and I really felt that way when he was with Alexandra. It just, it was beautiful. It was honestly, it was like, a whole thing."
Regarding Reeves' wildly popular mutual appreciation society, Sawayama observed that it is an affection that spans decades and generations. "Like even from my mom's generation since Speed," she said. "He is like the Internet. He's like the boyfriend of everyone."
Elsewhere in the PEOPLE interview, Reeves shared his appreciation for a sunrise, sharing, "I was recently traveling in Japan and had some wonderful jet lag and got to see the sun rising in Kyoto. Those are always cool. You have to stop, like, 'Aren't we glad to be here?'" the John Wick star added.
