"I really love that moment. I just get to look at my mook," said Palmer.
Being a new mother is wonderful for Keke Palmer! After receiving the Vanguard Award for her dedication to LGBTQ+ activism, Palmer was interviewed by ET's Denny Directo at the Los Angeles LGBT Center Gala on April 22.
Palmer highlighted her favorite aspect of becoming a mother to her two-month-old son, Leodis. "I think it's our mornings," Palmer gushed to ET. "Our alone time together. I really love that moment. I just get to look at my mook. We do a little singing and song and talking. He's laughing. He's smiling. And he's a little sleepy, so, I don't have to hear them cries (sic)."

Palmer, who welcomed her first child, Leodis. in February with her boyfriend Darius Jackson, has even composed a song just for the infant. "I'm singing to the baby. I have a song that I wrote for him," the new mom added. "Then sometimes, I'm just like, 'We doin' this, we doin' that.' You know, I do a little rap tap tap. I get into it," she added.
The 29-year-old singer-actress discussed her favorite aspects of having Jackson as a partner in this parenthood journey. "I guess I don't know what I would've expected, but I think he's just so attentive," Palmer revealed. "I guess that's what you want all fathers to be. But it's even more than I expected it. I just really am grateful to have such an amazing partner to do this with."
She continued, "I think that is obviously why we had the kid together. I saw way before that he had the dedication, the patience, and the discipline to be an amazing dad, and that's why I wanted to have my baby with him."
The Big Boss actress, who is releasing a video album, hinted that Leodis might follow in his parents' footsteps and pursue a career in show business. "I've got something for y'all too. Leo might be a little actor as well," Palmer teased. "Just stay posted for the whole family."
On February 25, Palmer gave birth to Leo, the couple's first child. She announced the news on Instagram. "Born during Black History Month, with a name to match! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo," she wrote.
On April 9, the Emmy Award-winning actress shared two images of her new family on Instagram in honor of Easter. The family was seen in color-coordinated outfits in the first selfie with Leo wearing a lovely black and beige polka dot onesie and matching hat, and Palmer wearing a brown sweater dress with tortoiseshell spectacles. Jackson was seen dressed in a black T-shirt and a brown hat. She captioned the image, "Happy Easter! Blessings to all! He has risen."
