Kelly Clarkson Reveals the Nightly Ritual She and Her Husband Have That Improves Intimacy and Strengthens Their Bond

The Breakaway singer has always been honest about her private life with her husband and has no inhibitions in talking about it.

Singer, reality TV judge, talk show host, wife, mother - Kelly Clarkson plays a lot of different roles in her life, and through it all she is tireless. During an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on the Kelly Clarkson Show where her mentee Brynn Cartelli was a guest, Clarkson revealed some personal information. Clarkson had coached Cartelli, who won the 14th season of The Voice. Clarkson, married to Brandon Blackstock, gave away the secrets from their daily lives that makes their relationship strong.

During the brief video, Clarkson and Cartelli were asking each other questions about their preferences in "Desert Island music" picks and others, when the latter asked her mentor what was the one thing she does before going to sleep. Initially, Clarkson laughed it off but then she added that she has sex with her husband every night. Cartelli's initial response to the Breakaway singer was "Oh no."

Then Clarkson went on to elaborate what she meant and she kept it PG when she talked about her active sex life. "Well, Brynn, I was single for many years, so… I have children. And how one makes children is generally what I do before bed. That’s not a lie," Clarkson revealed with a laugh. "That’s real," she added, according to ET. "And it’s not weird! It’s natural!"

Cartelli responded by saying "This is why America loves you" but she also jokingly covered her ears, and Clarkson joined in. The Because of You singer has always been forthright about her close and intimate relationship with her husband of seven years. They had started dating in 2012 and got married in 2013. Since then, they have had two kids together while Blackstock had two children from his previous marriage.

Her honesty wowed her fans as well this time around with many people calling her "down-to-earth", according to GoodHouseKeeping. She had also opened up about their love for physical intimacy in a previous interview.

"Any time we’re in a discussion about sex with a bunch of couples, Brandon and I stay pretty quiet. To keep it family appropriate, let’s say we’re just a lot more active than other couples. I’m a person who loves change. He loves spontaneity. Having a set time or place [to have sex] would be boring to us," she told Redbook. She added that what she found with him is passionate love. "When I met Brandon, I wasn’t looking for a friend. I have a lot of great friends! I was looking for a lover. I had never found someone I was truly passionate about, who I wanted to stay in bed with all day. The fact that I did, well…I was going to latch on and take advantage of that."

Apart from being a dedicated wife, she's also a "mama bear" to her children, and their safety is her prime concern. "Literally, having children has brought fear to my life. That sounds horrible, I know, but before kids I was fearless. Now I go to bed and I have nightmares of someone just grabbing my little girl and running. It’s always about me not being able to protect my kids somehow. I’m a mama bear. Just recently our nanny told me that an older kid was mean to my daughter at the park and that she just crumbled."
