There were rumors of the tyrannical leader being sick in April of this year as well.
North Korea was recently in the news when the country's leader Kim Jong-un ordered people to give up their pet dogs for consumption since the country is facing a shortage in food supply. Now it's created a buzz again in the media with a sensational revelation.
According to a South Korean diplomat, the infamous dictator has fallen into a coma. Similar rumors had surfaced back in April as the 36-year-old was barely seen in public this year, reported The Sun.
Chang Song-min, former aid to late president of South Korea Kim Dae-jung, claims that the dictator's sister, Kim Yo-jong, would be taking over as the leader of the country. Another news that shocked everyone was the claim that all the pictures of Kim Jong-un in the media were fake.
According to the New York Post, Chang claims that even though Kim Jong-un is reportedly in a coma, "his life has not ended.” He says, “A complete succession structure has not been formed, so Kim Yo-jong is being brought to the fore as the vacuum cannot be maintained for a prolonged period.”
On August 20, Yonhap News Agency reported that South Korea's spy agency revealed that the leader had distributed his powers to the people close to him as well as his sister.
South Korea’s National Intelligence Service reportedly met with the lawmakers in a private meeting and said, “Kim Yo-jong, the first vice department director of the Workers’ Party Central Committee, is steering overall state affairs on the delegation."
They added, "Chairman Kim Jong-un is still maintaining his absolute authority, but some of it has been handed over little by little," the agency said. It said, however, that this does not mean the leader has selected a successor.
Kim Jong-un's long absence from the crowd had given rise to numerous theories about the North Korean leader's health and there are still doubts about the diplomat's claims, whether it's the truth or not, as per Fox News.
Kim Yo-jong is reportedly the only one that her brother trusts, she's also the one who helped shape the leader's image in the public. Educated in Europe like her brother, the 33-year-old is believed to be the mind behind an aggressive approach to neighbor South Korea. If reports of Daily NK have to be believed, Kim Yo-jong is trying to fill the shoes of her brother, taking the reign of the South in her hands, as per The Sun.

Kim Yo-jong is approaching the traditionally ruled country with "revolutionary achievements." A source reportedly revealed, "She can’t rule the country from the military like her brother, so she is expanding her authority through the Propaganda and Agitation Department, just like her father Kim Jong-il."
Among all the drama, people reacted to the news on Twitter with funny tweets and gifs stating the number of times the leader has been reported dead. One of the users wrote, "kim jong un coming back from the dead for the 4th time" along with a funny clip.
