“I looked into her eyes and saw the beautiful, sweet, unguarded, welcoming, human being that she is. It was truly in an instant," said Jesse Plemons.

Between Interview With A Vampire, Spiderman and Little Women, Kirsten Dunst has proven she has no dearth of talent and range when it comes to her acting. Starting off as a child artiste, the actress has continued to rise in fame. But as amazing as she has been on the professional front, she hasn't been the luckiest in her personal life, especially her relationships. At least, not until now. She's had to face a ton of heartbreak before she finally managed to find the "right" guy for her — her Fargo co-star and fiance, Jesse Plemons.

From 1998 onwards, Dunst has been looking for the one guy who she could share the rest of her life with and start a family. However, despite dating Spiderman co-star Tobey Maguire, actors Jake Gyllenhall, Justin Long, and Garrett Hedlund, amongst others, she never saw herself committing her life to them.

Speaking to The Edit Magazine while dating Hedlund at the time, when asked what it is Dunst looks for in a boyfriend, she stated, "I want a guy to pay for dinner and open the door for me. I love the masculine," quoted Glamour. Adding to that, she said she's dated men in the past "who had more of a feminine side and it didn't work."

However, she's finally found someone with whom she does work and is "the one." The 37-year-old actress first met Plemons on the set of the FX show, Fargo in 2015 where they play husband and wife. From the moment he met Dunst, the Friday Night Lights star had been smitten with her. "It was a gift," Plemons explained at PaleyFest in 2015 when asked to describe working with Dunst, according to EOnline. "I loved Kirsten's work for a long time, and I was really excited once I'd met her, and she's a great person, and we're both actors that just… have fun with the material."

However, it wasn't an immediate chemistry between the two. It was only a month after Dunst and Hedlund had broken off their four-year relationship that these two had been linked. Photos of the co-stars kissing were published in May 2016 and soon enough, their summer romance turned into a full-blown relationship. A source who had seen them during an Emmy's after-party told E!News that The Virgin Suicides actress was packing on the affection and appeared "to be very much a couple."

A while later, the actress admitted during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, "I've got to keep things private a little bit. We got together a year after [meeting]. We became really good friends first." She recalled thinking, "You're like, ‘Oh, I really love this person. I love hanging out with him.'"

According to Vulture, Plemons recalled the moment he met Dunst and what it was like falling in love with her. Though he was nervous he said, “I looked into her eyes and saw the beautiful, sweet, unguarded, welcoming, human being that she is. It was truly in an instant.” In return, Dunst told him, “You are my everything, and I never thought I would have a partner that understands me the way that you do.”

By the end of 2017, Plemons popped the big question and Dunst accepted his proposal, according to EOnline. The Hidden Figures star confirmed her engagement while showing off a diamond ring at the Palm Springs Film Festival in early 2018. As she explained to Jimmy Fallon, "I was a little sick, when he did it which was funny. But that's good, in sickness and in health so that works. I was in sweats!" The Jumanji actress also mentioned that she felt a proposal coming on — "I could tell on my dad's face at Christmas. He's a bad liar."

In 2018, the couple, though not married yet even today, welcomed baby Ennis into their small, private world. As for when the couple will actually tie the knot, according to US Weekly, the mother-of-one told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press about their wedding plans. “We’re definitely going to have a wedding eventually, but probably small at home or something, like, really intimate — not a big wedding,” she noted. “It’s a priority, but you know how life is. You’ve got other little things, so it has to be a good time when we can all have fun.”

Well, here's to their immense happiness and inevitable marital bliss for years to come!
