"As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother," Kirstie Alley's kids wrote while announcing her death last month.
Lillie Price Stevenson, Kirstie Alley's daughter, carries on her mother's legacy. Lillie, 28, sent a heartfelt tribute on Instagram on Thursday, the day before her mother would have turned 72, wishing her a happy birthday. Lillie wrote, "happy birthday mama, wish you were here," next to four monochrome pictures of her mother.
In the photographs, Alley is captured in a variety of poses while donning a sleeveless top. She is seen in one image gazing directly at the camera while supporting her head with her arm. In a few more, she sports a low ponytail with her hair. She has a smile on her face as she gazes off into the horizon in the last image, per PEOPLE.
Although they have occasionally attended their mother's movie premieres throughout the years, Lillie Price and her brother William True Stevenson have lived most of their lives away from the spotlight. Lillie attended the premiere of Sydney White in 2007 and a charity gala in 2011. Alley and Lillie have a particularly strong relationship. The 28-year-old has over the years wished her mum a "Happy Mother's Day" and celebrated her mother's birthdays on Instagram.
When Alley passed last month, it was the children who took to social media to announce the star's passing. "She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead," the children revealed in a joint statement to PEOPLE, which was also shared on Alley's Instagram page. "As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother."
The siblings also shared how their mother's "zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren, and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did." After William welcomed his own baby in 2016, the actress experienced becoming a grandmother for the first time. "When your son has a son … bliss … yes this is my secret happy news as promised … Welcome Waylon Tripp Parker," she shared a picture of William cradling his infant along with the message.
The actress also discussed the joy of watching her own son's fatherhood journey with PEOPLE, "It's heartwarming to see your own child have a child," she said. "My son and his girlfriend are amazing parents. I couldn't have dreamt of anyone being better parents. I always knew my son would be because he loves babies, he's always loved little kids, and they've always gotten along really well with him."
