For pet lovers, there's nothing more meaningful in life than ensuring their babies get a good night's sleep. After all, sleep is important to all. But, while there are some people that let their dogs sleep with them on the bed, some others believe it is not the ideal way, so they choose to let their dog sleep on their own beds in the room. However, there are also pet parents who don't like their dogs to enter their bedroom at all.
For many people, sleeping next to a dog provides them with comfort. In fact, the National Center For Biotechnology Information (NCBI) claims that "a surprising 56% of dog owners sleep with their dog next to them." Also, women feel safer sleeping with dogs than with a cat or even another human being, according to research, says Healthline.
Sure, there are some concerns that come from sharing your bed with your paw-fect buddies. Human allergies can be aggravated, for example. Also, the chances of sleep being disrupted are there, but it also depends on a lot of other factors, like the size and number of dogs on the bed. Having said that, if you are someone who suffers from insomnia, then having a dog in bed does help you sleep better. But despite these minor hiccups, co-sleeping with your doggo is a win-win, per ROVER.
Here are five reasons why you should let your dog stay in bed with you while you sleep.
Your dog will remain by your side, making you feel very comfortable. The cutesy snores and the rhythmic breathing offer nothing but comfort, ensuring you get a good night's sleep as well.
Dogs are generally cuddly, which means that they will keep you warm throughout if it's a tad chilly. It also gives you something to hug while you sleep! However, they can sometimes get into your personal space, but I'm sure no one really minds that.
When your dog falls asleep before you do, it's because they're just very content. Honestly, there's nothing that can make a pet parent happier than seeing their dog happy. Also, they look really cute, and you just can't help but click a million pictures of them.
You know you can sleep well, without having to worry about intruders or harm coming your way, because, in the back of your mind, you know that your baby will be there to protect you, come what may.
You know, as much as dogs make you happy and calm you down, they also benefit from being around someone they love. There's a sense of security for them, knowing that they have a pal that's going to be there for the rest of their lives.
Now, if someone tells you that it's unhygienic to share a bed with your dog, just show them this article!
