"Thank you for being a constant inspiration, constant laugh, and constant legend," she added.
Emily in Paris star Lily Collins shared an adorable message on her father, Phil Collin's 72nd birthday, reported Good Morning America. In this message, she reflected on their similarities. The actress posted a carousel of pictures on Instagram that showed the similarities between the father-daughter duo.
In the first two pictures, they are both seen posing in a bathtub in the photos. Lily then shared the fashion inspiration she took from her dad, sharing multiple photos of the two of them wearing similar outfits.
She wrote in the caption, "Like father, like daughter. Happy birthday, dad," she wrote. "Thank you for being a constant inspiration, constant laugh, and constant legend." She added, "I love you so much and am celebrating you big time today!" Surprisingly, many fans came to know from this post that the rocker was her dad.
Some of her famous friends gushed about the duo, and her Emily in Paris co-star Ashley Park wrote, Obsessed with this album, so cute!!!” “My idol…,” William Abadie said.
Many of Lily’s fans were surprised and commented to share that they had no idea the actress was the daughter of the Grammy-winning artist. “PHIL COLLINS IS YOUR DAD?! This made my month,” one person commented. “Am I the only one just learning This is her dad ?! Doh,” wrote another. One fan also joked about this, “I love seeing comments yearly by people who didn't know he's your dad."
Collins has also spoken about not wanting a free pass in her career because she was Phil Colin's daughter, per PEOPLE. The actress told Vogue France, "It was out of the question that people would think that I use a free pass thanks to my name. I'm proud of my dad, but I wanted to be me, not just his daughter. For that, I was ready to wait to break through."
She added, "I love to sing. But as I wanted to make my own way, far from the paternal genius, I preferred to be an actress." She also said she didn't want her dad Phil Collins to have an "Invisible Touch" when it came to her acting career.
She also attended his band Genesis's final performance in London and wrote on her Instagram, "Thank you @genesis_band for the memories, thank you dad for being such an inspiration and thank you @nic_collins for making me the proudest sister there is. 50 years of songs later and still generations more to celebrate you long after this tour has finished."
