How many times have you witnessed someone voluntarily take up a task that involves the union of their ex-wife to another? Even though things were sour between Matt and Amy Roloff since their divorce, the two seemed to have found a way to be civil with each other. 59-year-old Matt has reportedly been working to get Roloff Farms in top-notch condition for his former wife Amy's wedding to Chris Marek. Sharing three pictures of construction being done on the property on Instagram, the father-of-four revealed how the preparations for Amy's big day are coming along.

"Racing at full speed to get the new building finished before the Big day, @amyjroloff and Chris' wedding day," read the caption of the post. "Pulling out all the stops … 16 days and counting! @rolofffarms is looking good. A huge thank-you to the team at @jeldwenusa windows. Not only a fantastic product (I'm a new friend for life). But they delivered on budget and ahead of schedule," continued the Little People, Big World star adding that they are "hoping the @ccandlroofingpdx can get the new metal roof on so we can button this up before the wedding," which is set to take place on August 28.

Concluding the post, he wrote, "Good news is … I’ll keep sharing photos so you can all see the progress. Best builders in the world The Lorangers Construction brothers and their entire network of subs!" Matt and Amy got married in 1987 and have four children together- fraternal twins Zachary and Jeremy, 31, Jacob, 24, and Molly, 27. But after 27 years, the two decided to go their separate ways after Amy found her husband exchanging suggestive texts and photos with a Roloff Farms manager, who she presumes was Caryn Chandler, his current girlfriend. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.

While Matt was still dating Chandler, Amy only started going on dates after May 2016. She had resigned herself to just dating and having a good time until she met Marek. "I just never thought someone who is average size would be interested in me," she expressed in a TLC Clip from June 2017. "I just really want him to never question or doubt the relationship because I’m a little person... I just have a good time. I have fun with him. I never thought I’d be dating as a grandma, and it’s nice to experience that and be with someone." Then three years later she was ready to settle down with the man of dreams who unexpectedly came into her life and swept Amy off her feet with a giddy proposal.

"I cried, he had tears and of course I said YES! I’m engaged and couldn’t be happier," she said of the proposal that Marek made when they were out celebrating their third anniversary. "I love this man so much. Of course, a day later I had to celebrate the news w/ two of my closest friends - Lisa and Debi. I’m blessed. I’m happy. I’m so looking forward to continuing our life journey together." The engagement was announced in September 2019 and the two chose the Roloff Farms, which is solely owned by Matt, to be their wedding venue.

"COVID came into play because I think a lot of people either changed or canceled and moved whatever was going on in 2020 to 2021. So other places just kind of eroded away and plan B became plan A," Amy said explaining how her former home became their wedding venue. "This was [a] hard [decision], but the farm has beautiful scenery and we just don't know what's going to happen with COVID, so it's easier to have it there." Although the wedding is set to take place at Matt's property, he and his girlfriend won't be attending it, reports PEOPLE. Understandably, it was a very awkward and difficult decision to make but Matt was respectful of his ex-wife's decision.

"Initially when Matt offered us the farm, I thought it was just a given that we invite him and Caryn to join us, if they'd like to, you know, no obligation," explained Marek. "But then I saw where it could be awkward for some people that were going to be at the wedding and especially maybe for Amy." Matt, on the other hand, added, "We had a conversation and he goes, 'Are you going to be offended if we don't invite you to the wedding?' [I said,] 'Absolutely not, let's just take it off the table, make it simple."
