Just Engaged 'Little People, Big World' Star Amy Roloff Is Proof That True Love Sees No Differences

The mother-of-four and reality TV star was out celebrating her third anniversary with her boyfriend when he popped the question.

TLC show Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff is on cloud nine ever since her long-time boyfriend Chris Marek proposed to her at a restaurant they visit often. The mother-of-four and grandmother said that she was "so surprised" when Marek asked her to marry him. She spoke about how she never imagined getting married again but is looking forward to it.

"I said YES. I couldn’t be happier and so looking forward to this new part of our life journey together. I’m blessed. Love you Chris. I love us," she wrote in an Instagram post.

When speaking to PEOPLE, she said, "I'm excited, I'm so surprised, I'm thrilled! I never in a million years thought I’d be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it's happening, I couldn't be happier or more excited."

Her doting fiance, Marek, said that he had been nervous about the proposal. "It had to be a heart-shaped diamond because I knew that’s what Amy wanted," he said. The date of their wedding has not been revealed.

Amy, who was previously married to Matt Roloff, with whom she has four children, twin brothers Jeremy and Zach, 29, daughter Molly, 26, and youngest son Jacob, 22, did not expect to be wed again, especially to someone of "average size." However, her relationship makes it obvious that love doesn't see differences between people. It only looks at the truth in our hearts.

Before getting engaged, she had resigned herself to just dating and having a good time. "I just never thought someone who is average size would be interested in me," she said in a TLC clip from June 2017. "I just really want him to never question or doubt the relationship because I’m a little person... I just have a good time. I have fun with him. I never thought I’d be dating as a grandma, and it’s nice to experience that and be with someone."

55-year-old Roloff, who had been married for 27 years, until filing for divorce in 2015 did not start dating until after May 2016, which is when her divorce was finalized. In a December 2016 episode of LPBW, she told her daughter about dating Marek.

"I’m having a good time," she said, according to PEOPLE. "You know, I had a couple of pool parties. I had, like, 40 people here. No, I probably had, like, 50 people here. Then this guy Chris that I met, he came to the party, too. We got to talking and he invited me to go on a motorcycle ride. Oh, I’m having a ball!"

Her children had been concerned about her then since she was going through a divorce and they were moving out of the house. "I’m glad my mom is getting out. I think that’s good because it would be really easy to just kind of get stuck," Molly had said.

Roloff was new to dating in 2016 and three years later, she is ready to settle down with the man she loves, even if it came unexpectedly. They were out celebrating their third anniversary when Marek asked her to marry him.

"I cried, he had tears and of course I said YES! I’m engaged and couldn’t be happier. I love this man so much. Of course, a day later I had to celebrate the news w/ two of my closest friends - Lisa and Debi. I’m blessed. I’m happy. I’m so looking forward to continuing our life journey together," said she.
