Amy Roloff Says Ex-Husband Matt and His Girlfriend Will Be Invited to Her Wedding to Fiance Chris Even Though They're "Not Friends"

Little People Big World's Amy Roloff got engaged to boyfriend Chris Marek in September 2019 and their nuptials are still pending. The new season of the TLC show will have the details of how they got engaged and many more changes that happened in her life. While they get ready for their wedding, which is likely to happen in the summer of 2021, one of the biggest concerns she has is the guest list and whether or not to invite her ex-husband.

While there has been some bad blood between her and her ex-husband Matt Roloff, she wishes him well. They got divorced four years ago and have each found love again. Matt, 58, lives with girlfriend Caryn Chandler on his farm. Amy also used to live on the Roloff Family Farm, but recently moved out to live with Chris. The farm is a part of who she is and her past since she raised her four children, twins Jeremy and Zach, 29, daughter Molly, 26, and son Jacob, 23, there. She is also a grandmother to four grandchildren. However, this mamma is ready to move on.

She spoke to Us Weekly that when she gets married, her ex-husband and his girlfriend will be invited. "It’s not like they’re not going to be invited," said Amy. She and Matt were married for 27 years before splitting up.

"We kind of already have the impression that it’s not something that they’re interested in going to," said Chris. "They’re welcomed if they’d like to come. We don’t want anyone coming to our wedding out of obligation. The wedding is supposed to be about good friends and close family. And I like Matt. I get along with him fine and Caryn. But we’re not friends that hang out. We don’t do things together," he said.

"He’s the father of my kids. I was married to him for a long time. He’s the grandfather of my grandkids and stuff. They’re more than welcome. But like Chris said, and I would totally agree, I just don’t want to invite someone because we’re inviting them," she said. "They would be invited, but I wouldn’t expect them to come because of what they expressed in the past. But the past is the past. Things can change in the future. We’ll see," Amy added.

The 55-year-old reality TV star was also honest about what she thinks will happen if Matt were to get married. She doesn't expect to get an invitation to his wedding to Caryn. "You want to start your new relationship with the people that are going to be part of [it],” she explained, adding that there would be only two reasons she would attend if she was invited. She would go "out of just support for my kids" and to "wish" her ex-husband the best.

The TLC reality TV star also talked about her relationship with Caryn, who started dating Matt in 2017. However, they have known each other for longer as she used to work on the farm, according to GoodHouseKeeping.

"I think they get better and I’m hoping over time they’ll continue to get better, but I would not say I’m friends with her," she told US Weekly. “To me, there’s enough history there that that would take a very, very long time. But like Matt [does with Chris], I’ll still be respectful and cordial to her. She’s going to be around my kids, my grandkids. This is who Matt, knowing someone for quite some time, will probably eventually marry," she added.

Previously, Matt had expressed that he really likes Amy's current partner. "Chris is a really, really good guy. I think everybody would tell you he really is good for Amy. He treats her very, very well," the farmer told Us Weekly. "From what we can tell, they’re really good together. They enjoy each other’s company, and they have fun. So I’m very, very happy for them and hope to give them all my blessings in the world."

Caryn had also added that they have no hard feelings for Amy. "We’re together sometimes and we make it pleasant. I’m super, super happy for them. I think that this is something Amy wanted, and I’m glad for her. … I care for her. I hope that she’s happy," she added.
