'Little People, Big World' Star Amy Roloff Mourns Her Mom's Death | "Life Is a Gift, Appreciate the Moments in Each Day"

While the exact details and nature of her ailment is unknown, Amy had revealed that she was suffering from cardiac issues for a long time.

Amy Roloff of Little People, Big World fame confirmed that her mother Patricia Knight has passed away on September 24 at age 86, reports PEOPLE.

“I am so sad about my mom’s passing but comforted by all the memories I have and that she lived a happy, long life with my father,” Roloff said in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE. “She was a great mom. Thank you for all the condolences and well wishes. Life is a gift, appreciate the moments in each day.”

While the exact details and nature of her ailment is unknown, Roloff had revealed that she was suffering from cardiac issues for a long time. Her obituary revealed that her family will honor her memory on October 24 at a local Michigan funeral home, confirmed PEOPLE.

In an Instagram post featuring her two grandchildren, Roloff hinted towards her loss after the news of Knight's death was made public.

“It’s been a tough week after hearing sad news,” she captioned a photo of her two grandchildren.

The TLC star continued, “But these two – my grand kids Jackson and Ember – always make me smile and melt my heart. Simply, Love them so much..."

"My mom isn’t doing so well and I need to see them. Every moment is precious the older I get and the older they get," Roloff had revealed in June when she went to Michigan to spend some quality time with her parents after her mother was rendered critical and was admitted to the hospital.

“Her heart is weak though and she gets tired easily but her mind is sharp. The transition of slowing down and not doing all she’d like to do will be hard,” she had then explained. While Roloff was anticipating a sad future, she was also trying to keep her chin up and remain positive. “Just need to appreciate the moments, what she can do and the days that are left,” she had said.

She had also revealed that she loves spending time with them and that she hopes for a better tomorrow. “Wish it was for other reasons than my Mom being in the hospital- I love coming ‘home’ to Michigan,” she wrote. “After visiting w/ my Mom in the hospital I made dinner for my Dad! He enjoyed it and I loved making it for him.”

Sadness hits you right in the heart when you were hopeful all the while. Roloff was keeping her admirers updated about the condition of her mother and wishing for her well-being all along. “So glad I got to come home and visit w/ my Mom and Dad. Waiting to hear if she gets to come home today,” she wrote in one of her Instagram posts.

As close to her mother as she was, Roloff made sure that she spends Knight's 86th birthday with her and her family at home. “I came home – Michigan – to celebrate this wonderful special woman – My mom – 86th birthday and what a priceless memorable fantastic time it was. I’m so blessed and thankful for my parents. They are 90 and 86 and still are able to do so much. Praise God. 🙏🏻” she wrote on Instagram.
