The daughter and her boyfriend fled the crime scene after the cold-hearted murder.
Trigger warning: Contains details of murder that might be distressing to some
No child in their right minds can ever imagine causing harm to the ones who gave them life. However, a daughter in Greece town, New York, was responsible for brutally taking the life of her own mother.
The mother, identified as 36-year-old Otillia Piros was awaiting the arrival of her beloved daughter, Hannah Thomas, during the holidays, unaware that Hannah had a sinister plan outlined for Otillia. The loving mum from upstate New York was allegedly killed by her daughter and her boyfriend Richard Avila, according to People.

No one would have known what happened to Otillia if it was not for her mother. Her mother requested the authorities to conduct a welfare check on Otillia on December 29, 2020, after she didn't hear from her for two days, which was quite odd. Once the police reached her place, they were greeted with a horrific scene, Otillia's body was found with a gunshot wound in the kitchen of her home.
The investigators found out that the 17-year-old daughter and her boyfriend shot the woman twice in her head. Greece Police Chief Drew Forsythe said during a press conference, "Upon arrival, they were met with the family member, spoke to then and upon entering the house found the female deceased on the floor of the kitchen. Ottilia was a beloved family member and friend to many in this community, who are now grieving this violent and senseless tragedy,” reported WROC.

The authorities confirmed that the murder might have taken place on either December 28 or 29. Officer Drew also revealed that the couple fled the crime scene in Otillia's car. They were stopped by the police in St. Roberts in Missouri for overspeeding. It was Richard who was driving the car at high speed while Hannah was in the passenger seat.
Suspicion arose when the couple gave inconsistent details about the car's owner and their identity. Hannah initially stated that her name was Karen and that the car belonged to her grandmother, later confessing her real name and that the car belonged to Ottilia. The officer then contacted the Greece police department to find out about Ottilia. Incidentally, this was on the same morning her mother called the authorities to do a welfare check.
When the detectives traveled to St. Robert to question the teen couple, they recovered a handgun from the vehicle following which they arrested them. "Ballistic analysis of the weapon was completed and it was determined this firearm was used to murder Otillia," divulged Officer Drew. The two are now being held in Missouri as they are waiting for their transfer to New York. It is not known if the couple has attorneys as they have not entered pleas yet.

WHAM reported Officer Drew saying, “What makes this case even more egregious and sickening is the fact that Otillia was executed in her own home at the hands of her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend."
He added, "This woman didn't deserve this, over the holidays at the hands of her own daughter. Think about that, the manner that this occurred. Our hearts go out to their family, to their friends, because it doesn't get much worse than that."
According to Democrat and Chronicle, Ottilia had been staying at her Greece home for 18 months. Her father, who's now in a care facility, stayed with her as well. Ashley Tatum, a long-time friend of Otillia added, "The first word when I see her face is smiley. She was just so happy and outgoing, and just a bubbly person. Everybody loved her," as per WROC.
