Despite her wealth, their divorce will likely be "pretty standard and vanilla," family law attorney David Glass said.
As per a report by PEOPLE, MacKenzie Scott's divorce from Seattle school teacher Dan Jewett has been finalized. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, her now ex-husband finalized the terms of their separation on January, 4. TMZ was the first to report that the divorce had been finalized. Scott and Jewett have signed a separation contract, which includes the division of property and debts. Spousal support was not requested in this divorce. Scott, 52, was previously married to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. She walked away from her first marriage with nearly $37 billion and pledged half to charity.

According to the Washington Post, Scott first met Jewett at her children's school. She filed for divorce from her second husband in late September 2022, more than a year after the couple's wedding in March 2021. Two years prior, in 2019, Scott and her first husband, Bezos announced that they were ending their marriage after 25 years. Their divorce was finalized in July 2019.
Scott is one of the wealthiest women in the world. She has an estimated net worth of $22.2 billion as of Thursday, Jan 12, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Scott who was earlier ranked 39th on the Index gave away much of her fortune throughout her marriage to Jewett. She gifted her $55 million Beverly Hills estate to support the nonprofit California Community Foundation last September, and another $436 million to Habitat for Humanity in March 2022, reported PEOPLE.
Despite her wealth, their divorce will likely be "pretty standard and vanilla," family law attorney David Glass, who had viewed the filing submitted to Washington State's King County Superior Court in September 2022, told PEOPLE. Glass had also discussed what a separation contract meant. "A separation contract under Washington law is when you say to your spouse, 'We're going to get divorced and we can work out all the details ourselves. Let's write it up in an agreement and we'll just notify the court that we've figured everything out'," said Glass, who did not represent either party. "And so that's what they did here."
Washington State law allows divorcing couples to keep their separation agreement "completely private," Glass added. Thus, the terms of their divorce had been settled in September 2022. Glass also said "they each had their lawyers, they figured out who's keeping what real estate, who's keeping what assets. They decided that there wouldn't be any sort of spousal support, and because they don't have any children [together], they didn't have to get into the issue of custody." He added, "And so you inform the court in Washington State, 'We have a separation agreement, we don't need you for anything other than to issue the divorce decree.' "

Glass had also told PEOPLE that page three of Scott's divorce petition contained a consent form from Jewett agreeing to the filing in its entirety, which ensured a smooth divorce. "So he signed off saying, 'I agree to all this. Please just have [us] divorced'." He added, "So there won't be any trials, there won't be any court appearances, and there likely won't be any other papers filed with the court," Glass added.
