Madonna's appearance on Jimmy Fallon's talk show was a rather memorable one. The 63-year-old was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 7, 2021, to promote her newly released Paramount+ tour documentary Madame X, and she surprised the late-night host by crawling across his desk in an attempt to "disturb" the peace, reports PEOPLE.

The interview started off with Madonna being asked what she hopes viewers will take away from the project. According to HuffPost, the movie Madame X, is a live recording of her infamous 2020 tour, when she performed at local theaters instead of the usual arenas and stadiums. Referring to her decision, Fallon asked, “You always do stuff that no one’s doing, you zig when people are zagging… but here’s what I was going to ask you…?”

“Did I make any money?” Madonna interrupted. “No I didn’t!”

Jimmy insisted: “I wasn’t going to ask you that! But people take your ideas, you do all these things first, and then people take your ideas and don’t give you credit.”

“Yeah,” Madonna agreed. “And they also don’t do it as good. That sounds really arrogant but it’s kind of true.” The Material Girl singer then told Jimmy Fallon, "Art is important in our lives. I don't think people emphasize that enough."

She continued talking, explaining to Fallon, 47, that she is "really inspired by James Baldwin, the writer," adding that "He was a great source of inspiration for the show, and one of the things I quote over and over again in the show is that artists are here to disturb the peace."

"And so I hope that I have disturbed not only your peace this afternoon but people's peace while they watch the show. But I mean that in the best way," the Like a Prayer singer added while responding to Fallon.

He replied by saying that she always finds good trouble, and that's when Madonna slyly smiled and then rose from her seat, before sliding across the father of two's desk. She was encouraged by loud cheers from the audience, but Fallon kept telling her, "Madonna! Stop, stop, stop, stop. Stop it! Oh my heavens. Stop it. Stop it. I don't know what to do. Stop it right now." However, he just couldn't control his laughter.

Since Madonna was in a tiny dress, Fallon immediately took off his jacket and covered the singer's bottom. She got off the desk, and told the late night host that "No one's gonna see anything. My God!"

In just a moment after she said that, she made her way back to her seat, but not before flashing the audience a quick glimpse of her derrière, prompting them to erupt with cheers.

Safe to say that was one heck of an eventful interview, wasn't it?
