Mama June and Honey Boo Boo's older sister Lauryn "Pumpkin" took to Instagram to shower praises on Honey Boo Boo for graduating school despite the rough times that the family has been through in the last few years.
Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson has graduated from high school! On May 20, the former Toddlers & Tiaras star graduated from Wilkinson County High School in Georgia. Alana's family celebrated her achievement on Instagram, with her proud mama sharing a series of touching posts to mark the occasion.
Her mother, Mama June Shannon, documented the day on Instagram with a photo and video montage that included photos of Alana in her cap and gown as well as highlights from the ceremony, per TODAY. She wrote a heartfelt message for her daughter in the caption, a part of which read, “Well, today Alana closed one chapter of her life.” She admitted that her family had “been through a lot,” but she was proud of her daughter for “moving into the next chapter” and attending college.
"You never gave up even when there were times we all know [you] were over getting up early n going to school," she added. "And even what we have been through in the last few years [you] never quit or gave up and I’m so very proud of YOU for that I love you so much Alana.”
Mama June also posted an Instagram photo montage showcasing more of the wonderful day, “Look we are so proud of Lana so y’all getting a picture overload from me and pumpkin,” she wrote.
“I can’t believe my baby is graduated and y’alls baby,” Mama June added in the caption. “Yall have watch grown up before y’all eyes on tv, she is grown now graduated high school today can y’all believe it and about to go to college.”
Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, Alana's older sister, also celebrated the graduation with an Instagram post. She wrote a heartwarming note for Alana in the caption, “To say I'm proud would be an understatement. To be there a witness this next chapter I’m amazed,” she continued. “Amazed at how much you’ve grown, how beautiful your soul is, & most importantly how far you've come against all odds. To hear your name be called & to watch you walk, I'm honored truly.”
Lauryn expressed excitement for Alana's future after high school, calling herself “your biggest fan” adding, “always & forever gonna be screaming the loudest for you. I love you, Alana.”
Jessica Shannon, Alana's other sister, also commemorated the momentous occasion by posting a collage of images and videos from the graduation ceremony on Instagram. “Today was the day you’ve been waiting for a while and you made it!” she wrote in the caption. “You’ve come a long way from being that aggravating lil sister who was all my butt to a beautiful young lady. I want you to know that I’ll always have your back regardless of anything. You will do big things I see it! I love you, Alana.”
