Trigger warning: The story has details of murder and physical assault that some readers may find disturbing.
This story is of a man who went with a sinister goal to his estranged girlfriend's house but could not finish the job because his plan wasn't something that was meant to happen. The domestic violence case turned deadly when the man went to his ex-girlfriend's house and started attacking her brutally.
It all started when the man, identified as Justin Goss from Glendale by the Los Angeles County coroner's office, went to the woman's house and started choking her. However, her mother and sister were present at the scene and came to her rescue, according to NBC4. During the struggle, they started beating up Goss with a golf club and when things didn't seem to be under control, they stabbed him to death. It should be noted that they acted in self defense.
When the South Pasadena police officers received a call for domestic violence and were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10 a.m on November 28, they found that the front window of the house was shattered. They also heard a woman screaming. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Shawn Du Busky revealed that when they entered the house, they found Goss beaten and suffering from stab wounds. He was soon pronounced dead at the scene.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt Barry Hall told the Los Angeles Times that the woman's mother and sister tried everything they could to get Goss away from his ex-girlfriend but were unsuccessful. He said that the two women "tried to pull him off, and it didn't work; he was too strong. So they had to resort to using weapons." He added, "They were well within their right to act in defense of their sister and daughter." The 37-year-old woman was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of her facial injuries.
The officials have kept her identity a secret along with the identity of her mother and sister. The details of what led to things getting out of control have not been released by the officers in charge but they've revealed that neither the mum nor the woman's sister would be facing any charges since it was an act of defense. The sheriff's Homicide Bureau has requested anyone who can provide them with information to call at 323-890-5500.
