The bodybuilder proposed the doll in December last year and was supposed to have gotten married this year, but their wedding got postponed because of the pandemic.
After overcoming delays one after the other, Yuri Tolochko has finally got his wish fulfilled. This bodybuilder from Kazakhstan has been dating a doll, Margo, for a year-and-a-half. He met Margo in a nightclub after he saved her from a random guy who was troubling her.
After being together for a while he popped the question in December last year and was set to tie the knot in March this year. However, the pandemic ruined all his plans. The Daily Star reported that the wedding was postponed again because Yuri was attacked during a trans pride rally in Almaty on October 31.
The attack left him with a broken nose and concussion. Yuri was attacked for being dressed as a woman to portray the biases in society. He posted pictures of his injuries on his Instagram page. Yuri elaborated, "A few months ago I started using a female image for performances. I named this character Amanda. Through this image, I convey certain ideas in our society. So I was beaten."
In a video that was posted by the bodybuilder, one can see the abuse he suffered as a man can be seen tearing off his wig and punching him. However, things turned out well for Yuri after all. He finally walked down the aisle with Margo like he wanted to. Sharing the good news, he wrote, "It's happened. To be continued."
The newlywed man who identifies himself as pansexual said that he can fall in love with a person, a character, or an image. "I like the process of sex itself. And gender, sexual orientation are not particularly important here," he explained. Giving some explicit details about the relationship he shares with Margo, he said, "Our story turns me on much more than sex itself... Margo is capable of what other people are not capable of."
Now, Yuri's wedding with Margo is set to be done according to Kazakh law where the consenting parties need to be male and female who are over 18 years old. He's also searching for a house for him and his wife in Almaty or Nur-Sultan.
The couple's journey to exchanging rings wasn't an easy one. Initially, when Yuri introduced his then-girlfriend-now-wife to the world, Margo received a lot of criticism from both his family and friends. But he took care of it. "When I presented her photo to the world, there was a lot of criticism," Yuri elaborated. He continued, "And she began to develop a complex so we decided to have plastic surgery. She has changed a lot. At first, it was hard to accept but I got used to it later on. It was at a real clinic with real doctors."
Unlike popular opinions about Margo, the bodybuilder treats his wife like a real person. Not only does she have an Instagram page of her own where there are numerous pictures of both Yuri and Margo having a good time, but Yuri got her a job at a local bar too. He does admit that his wife "can't walk by herself," and needs help.
He also revealed that even though she loves to eat, “Margo doesn’t know how to cook,” the New York Post reported Yuri saying. He continued, “[She] loves Georgian cuisine. Her favorite dish is ‘khinkali’ [dumplings]."
The outlet also reported that their unusual relationship got them to the Russian TV show Comedy Club. Yuri revealed that Margo "swears" when they have a fight but Margo "is a tender soul inside.” But he insists that their "fights" never change their relationship.
