"Our plan is to enjoy our engagement and we are looking forward to a simple but elegant wedding in 2024," Roloff said.
Matt Roloff is prepared to walk down the wedding aisle! The Little People, Big World star has been dating Caryn Chandler since 2017, and the two are now engaged. "After six wonderful years together, I asked Caryn to marry me and she said yes!" Roloff, 61, told PEOPLE. "Our plan is to enjoy our engagement and we are looking forward to a simple but elegant wedding in 2024."
The couple shared an adorable picture on Instagram, with Caryn displaying her beautiful ring with a big smile on her face. "She said yes!" the picture was captioned.
Roloff once referred to Chandler as his "rock," saying on Instagram in 2021 that "she [knows] how to take some random structure I build and make it come alive with energy and soul." Early in 2021, Roloff moved in with Chandler, who had worked at Roloff Farms before the two started dating.
"Our grand plan right now is to stay committed, stay in love, go to Arizona, and spend a tremendous amount of time together," Chandler said in a confessional interview during an August LPBW episode at the time, per PEOPLE. "Then when we're here in Portland, we'll live individually and see each other a lot." The couple's move into living together, according to Roloff, is "a whole new major chapter in life," and they are experiencing "the best of all worlds."
The two have even kept up their friendly relationship with Matt's ex Amy Roloff and her current husband Chris Marek. The group, who were joined by son Jacob Roloff, his wife Isabel, and their son Mateo, took part in a fall gathering at Roloff Farms surrounded by pumpkins in October. "First weekend of 2022 Pumpkin Season in the books," wrote Matt, who called the weekend "a giant success."
"Big Big thanks to @amyjroloff and Chris," he continued, "and of course @isabelsofiarock @jacobroloff45, Caryn, and all our amazing staff who go beyond the call to put our Fall Festival on year after year."
Chris Marek even sought Matt's counsel before marrying Amy when he was feeling nervous ahead of the wedding, per PEOPLE. "I'm feeling nervous, Matt," Chris admitted to Matt. "I've never done this before." Chris shared it was "all the ... attention" that would be focused on him that makes him most uncomfortable. "I haven't written the vows yet. Amy wants to exchange vows," he said. "I'm going to be trying real hard to lock everything down."
"Chris, take it from me: a little emotional flow, that's good," Matt insisted, letting Chris know it's okay to be emotional. "I cry at movies, silly movies," Matt replied. "And I'm usually trying to, you know, not let Caryn see. And I look over, she's all steely-eyed!"
